As a Discretionary Fixed Income Specialist in the Asia Private Bank team, you will engage in all aspects of this process, offering a unique opportunity for hybrid growth. Our global presence includes desks in New York, London, Luxembourg, Hong Kong, and Singapore, all collaborating closely with our extensive client base.  You will play a key role in supporting the team’s efforts to manage Advisor relationships, provide investment insights, and enhance the overall client experience. 


The Asia Team provides comprehensive coverage of our managed fixed income solutions, including separately managed accounts and mutual funds.  With a product-agnostic approach, we collaborate with regional teams to align priorities and drive asset growth across all fixed income strategies.  The Private Bank Cross-Asset Trading Desk is a part of our Capital Market Solutions group (CMS) within Wealth Management Solutions. The team is in charge of (a) developing market views; (b) investigates and determines the best execution vehicles to express market views, both tactical and longer-term; (c) markets investment ideas; and (d) executes cash equities, bonds and FX trades globally. 


Job Responsibilities


  • Serve as a managed fixed income product expert in Asia, supporting the Asia Head of Discretionary Fixed Income 
  • Engage directly with investment teams, including portfolio managers and fund houses, to facilitate investment dialogues.
  • Create and produce market-related presentation materials for forums like morning meetings and client sessions.
  • Write portfolio commentary and prepare portfolio statistics summary for separately managed accounts 
  • Provide competitive insights to differentiate various fixed income strategies
  • Partner with Advisors to understand client needs, identify growth opportunities, and participate in client meetings
  • Communicate proactively with regional fixed income specialists to deliver timely insights
  • Collaborate with the Fixed Income Strategy team to stay informed on market and economic insights
  • Educate advisors through presentations and discussions, such as team huddles and regional calls
  • Monitor industry flows, market trends, and the competitive landscape in managed fixed income products

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills


  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, ideally in direct investing or client portfolio management at an Asset Management firm, Private Bank, Wealth Manager, or Institutional Investor
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and public speaking skills to effectively articulate investment processes and views
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, portfolio management system (PRISM) and coding (Python)
  • Superior multi-tasking abilities, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Experience with fixed income managed accounts, mutual funds, and both active and passive managers
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written and Strong written and oral presentation skills to confidently convey market views and product ideas

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills


  • Degree in Finance/Economics and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) preferred
  • Strong interest and passion for financial markets, international affairs, and geopolitical events, with a preference for fixed income market expertise
