Job Title: Director, Strategy and Performance

Introduction to role


The Director, Strategy & Performance, in partnership with the Bangalore Hub leadership team, plays a key role in owning the development and execution of strategic priorities. This role requires an understanding of the overall strategy of the organization, functions present in the hub, and effectively communicating the value proposition and performance to team members. This position sits on the Leadership team of the Hub and reports directly to the Hub Director.


Accountabilities

Key responsibilities include:


  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the business and execute strategy in partnership with key team members
  • Analyze business demand and opportunities for growth for informed decision-making and strategic planning
  • Drive growth and maturity of the hub by incorporating external insights, prioritizing high-impact projects, and collaborating with Leadership teams in executing strategic initiatives to build future capabilities
  • Develop and drive the scorecard, operational metrics, and assist Hub Director in driving robust governance by measurement, monitoring, and reporting of performance indicators and provide insights for continuous improvements
  • Enable collection and dissemination of information to articulate the Hub value proposition to internal team members
  • Lead and implement internal and external communication strategy for the Hub
  • Build positive relationships with key collaborators in India and globally to influence and drive strategic alignment
  • Ensure compliance to internal standards, documentation, and partner with leads for audits
  • Develop and implement ‘Business Continuity Plan’ and ‘Crisis Management Plan’ for the Hub in association with the Functional and Enabling Leads and counterparts based in other geographies
  • Solution critical ad-hoc requirements of the Hub Leadership team related to organizational information and business planning
Essential Skills/Experience
  • Proven experience as Business Partner/Strategy Leader in Global Capability Centre (GCC)
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and identify potential opportunities and risks
  • Proficiency in using data to advise decision-making and measure performance against key metrics
  • Ability to lead and empower cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives
  • Proven ability to work across various functions, provide strategic inputs, and get team member buy-in
  • Good understanding of deploying important metrics for enhanced business performance and using benchmarking for effective target setting
  • Outstanding communication skills, facilitation, interpersonal, and Data Visualization skills
  • Positive relationship leadership skills and ability to work optimally in a matrix organization
  • Ability to synthesize sophisticated information and tell a compelling story about value and performance
  • Understanding of market dynamics and familiarity with industry standard methodologies and benchmarks in strategy and performance management
Desirable Skills/Experience
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
  • MBA or sophisticated business degree preferred
