Role Summary

This position offers a unique opportunity to build solutions using platforms and technologies as diverse as embedded systems, major desktop and server operating systems, AI, as well as cloud technologies. In this role you will closely partner with Product Managers to define and refine the product roadmaps. You will also be responsible for interaction with customers (directly as well as through the customer success team) all over the globe, understand their needs and exceed their expectations through innovation and selection of the right technology.


What you’ll do

As Director Engineering in Print Technology group, you will be responsible for leading multiple teams and deliver world class products, with the help of multi-tiered managers reporting to you


  • Understand business strategy by working closely with higher management, product management, sales, marketing, and OEM account management teams
  • Interact regularly with customers, and establish relationships at the right level with engineering counterparts
  • Drive strategy, architecture and development goals for various products using customer requirements and business goals
  • Articulate the roadmap to internal teams as well as customer executives
  • Ensure all products and solutions are delivered within the committed schedule
  • Challenge the teams to innovate and deliver better products and solutions
  • Partner with Product Managers to define and refine the product roadmaps
  • Review, approve and monitor project plans and schedules of products
  • Ensure the right staffing of each development team
  • Act as an Innovation Catalyst to foster innovation in the team and create a technical roadmap
  • Evangelize your products both internally and externally
  • Ensure adherence to Adobe policies and processes for product development as well as people management
  • Encourage interaction across teams, ensure reuse of technologies across products, wherever possible
  • Participate in hiring top talents, for the Print Technology group as well as for broader Adobe needs
  • Demonstrate Adobe Values and create a culture where everyone is valued
What you need to succeed
  • More than 20 years’ experience working in the Software development industry including at least 8 years as a people manager
  • Adept at handling multiple teams - must have at least 4 years experience as a third-level manager
  • Excellent people management, communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to drive innovation, deep and hands-on understanding of C, C++ & Embedded Technologies
  • Self-starter, passion to delight customers, willingness to walk the extra mile
  • Relationships building with customers and internal stakeholders
  • B.Tech / M.Tech degree in Computer Science from a premier institute
