Director - Retail Advisory Services
Job Location: Bangal
What this job involves?
- Leverage the industry experience and network to generate leads through active Business Development.
- Tap into new-age retailers (D2C and others) and help them devise their new market-entry and expansion strategies; and also assist them in raising funding (private equity and other sources).
- Connect with all major PE funds, Angel Investors and help them deploy capital into Retail companies looking to raise funds at various stages of their lifecycle.
- Assess client requirements, initiate & maintain client interactions, provide inputs on pricing, and participate in proposal discussions and site inspections, wherever need be.
- Lead the Delivery Execution Team for Conducting Retail Real Estate Research, Feasibility Studies, Best-Use and Highest-Use Studies and also Retail asset-led Mixed-Use Feasibility Studies
- Work in close collaboration with Retail Transactions team, Consulting and Valuations teams across India in ratifying the databases and set up a mechanism of regular updation of these databases
- Closely work with all Retail Segment leads and Regional leads on releasing Research though-leadership Whitepapers on a regular basis (quarterly and on major retail events).
- Dual exposure of a client-facing role combined with guiding the Retail Consulting team execute with the assignment delivery
- Collaborate with leaders from Retail and other business verticals in pitching for new assignments with cutting-edge Research data and insights
- Opportunity to work with a global brand in JLL and work in close collaboration with JLL’s global teams and support the team in driving cross-border initiatives
What skill sets does this role require?
- A consultative, strategic bent of mind with a reasonable exposure to the Retail industry
- Must possess a deep understanding of how various Retail formats perform under different Retail Real Estate ecosystems (Shopping Centres, High-Streets, Mixed-Use developments, standalone-retail etc)
- Reasonably good understanding of various Retail segments – Fashion, Apparel, Accessories, F&B, Family Entertainment, Multiplexes, Beauty and Personal Care, Jewellery, Department Stores etc
- A little bit of exposure and understanding of some of the global retail markets would be an added advantage
- A reasonable level of exposure to some of the other industries apart from retail, such as, Technology, Automobiles, Media and Entertainment
- Consulting & Data Analysis skills with strong industry network for Business Development
- Execution skills- Report writing - Feasibility report market research report etc., Market surveys, financial modelling, making presentations.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Requirements:
- At least 15-18 years years of experience in Consulting with experience in / exposure to different retail categories ~ CPG / FMCG, Fashion Apparel, Accessories, Athleisure, Food and Beverages, Value, Premium and Luxury Retail, Entertainment, Consumer Durables etc
- Must possess a research-oriented mindset – constantly research and analyze latest developments, innovations and best practices and applies them to offer solutions to client problems
- Experience in Management Consulting having worked in leading / boutique consulting firm / Big 4.
- Educational background could be in Economics, Finance, Management, Architecture, Urban Planning, Urban Design will be an added advantage
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Business Management (MBA/ MA / M.Sc. etc)
- Excellent Communication & Interpersonal skills. Strong analytical, proven negotiation & financial skills
