Job Description Summary
The role is part of the global product management team for Mastercard Gateway and will lead a domain responsible for delivering some of the core capabilities of the gateway
• Are you passionate about payments and intricacies of card processing and transaction acceptance?
• Do you feel comfortable working through a very specific execution challenge one day and convincingly present a high-level roadmap to senior execs next day?
• Do you feel comfortable speaking to both technical and business audiences and do so with clarity and passion?
Role
• Lead a team of Product Managers responsible for building and running a cutting-edge gateway focusing on new capabilities for our markets while also ensuring appropriate focus on reliability, security, and compliance.
• Ensure we are solving the right problems in a way that delivers value to our global customer base.
• Lead the modernization of our gateway in your domain focusing on the card processing and how to do so without impacting the existing customers, ensuring we remain compliant, secure, and fast. Look for ways to reduce decline rates for our customers and improve the transaction processing experience.
• Articulate vision for your domain and define, evangelize & execute on near to medium term strategy.
• Effectively prioritize the domain backlog balancing short-term tactical with medium-term strategic priorities and own the overall roadmap and go to market activities.
• Be the expert on both the needs and key pain points of our users and customers as well as ways to address them.
• Measure success of the various product capabilities within the domain, propose optimization strategies, define key OKRs and work with cross-functional team to deliver on them.
All About You
• 3+ years of experience of leading a team of product managers and 6+ years as individual contributor with a track record of delivering excellent results.
• Strong expertise and experience in card payment processing, understanding of the market landscape and having the ability to connect the technical drivers with business ones.
• Value collaboration and prefer building long term partnerships with your colleagues but you can speak up, disagree and debate rigorously when required.
• Natural empathy for customers shapes the way you think about building and launching products.
• Can talk about the customer value of a new feature with the business teams as well as discuss technical solution trade-offs with the engineering team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You can simplify complex problems and requirements to make them more accessible to a wider audience.
• Strong stakeholder management skills in a matrix organization – you can influence, persuade, and get things done without having the formal authority over other teams and people.
