Are you passionate about the chance to bring your extensive Delivery experience to lead technology & Engineering teams through complex, full life cycle implementation in a world class company?  The Commercial Engineering team is looking to add a Director of Engineering to a well-established global team.  This position requires someone who is passionate learner, an independent thinker, innovator, works collaboratively across multiple disciplines, and thinks strategically about delivering Technology solutions and services to internal and external customers. This role demands outstanding engineering, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills as well as expertise in areas including marketing, sales, CPQ, order management and Partner Portal. The successful candidate will drive technological excellence using our core tech stack—Salesforce, SAP, integration technologies, and other digital solutions to enhance our customer lifecycle, while patterning with business leaders to drive Thomson Reuters growth.
As a Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for multiple capabilities of different complexities working with other senior project leads to ensure the technical aspect of the program is delivered on time and within budget. Building and maintaining strong relationships with sales, marketing and internal Product Teams, understanding their need/business challenges, and ensuring that the delivery meets or exceeds their expectations.
About the Role
As a Director of Engineering, Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
Delivery: Architect the overarching vision and strategy for Go to Market commercial technology solutions that support every phase of the customer journey. Lead the design, development, deployment and integration of core platforms such as Martech applications, Salesforce, CPQ, and other integration/digital technologies.
Leadership and Strategy: Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless and efficient customer journey from initial contact through sales, order management. Establish and ensure the strategic roadmap for Go-to-Market technology systems, including setting long-term goals, defining solution delivery models, and identifying opportunities for growth or improvement, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives to support revenue targets, customer satisfaction goals, and Agile delivery methodology.
Process & technology Improvement: Assess technology stacks to ensure our systems are efficient, scalable, this may include implementing new technologies or methodologies. Continuously assessing and improving delivery processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
Stakeholder Communication: Communicating effectively with all stakeholders, including internal Product customers, team members, and senior management, to ensure transparency and buy-in for delivery strategies.
Performance Metrics: Establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of technology solutions, delivery operations and make data-driven decisions. Continuously assess system performance and implement improvements as needed.
Risk Management: Identifying potential technical & Delivery risks in terms of timelines, budgets, or quality, and developing strategies to mitigate these risks.
Financial Management: Overseeing the budget for delivery operations, including forecasting, resource allocation, and cost control.
About You
You’re a fit for the role of Director, Delivery if you have:


  • Minimum of 15+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, with extensive experience in end-to-end customer lifecycle management and commercial technologies.


  • Proficient understanding of Martech applications, Salesforce, CPQ, digital technology platforms, and integration technologies (API, Apigee, Boomi, etc)


  • Proven track record of technological strategy formulation and execution in a commercial context.


  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.


  • Excellent communication and team leadership capabilities.


  • Bold enough to challenge the status-quo


  • Strong thought leaders, influential communication skills, and a capacity to guide and direct field-facing initiatives through the leadership team


  • Proven effective project management capability in a highly matrixed, customer-centric organization
