Job Description Summary


This position is part of the Continuous exploration, EE & Quality (TSI-CPS-EUS-CEQ)​, which is under the Engineering Enablement, UX/UI & Sustainability (TSI-CPS-EUS) organization.


Our mission is to deliver loveable engineering experience to enable fast delivery in the right way through a set of tools, practices and services covering the entire product lifecycle: Engineering Experience, UI/UX, Quality & Maintenance, Green IT, Security, DevRel.


CEQ Org in Bangalore manages toolchain that’s well spread and own flagship products in Amadeus, like JIRA, Nano, Change review, Reverse proxy, Octane, AQA, PTR management, Sonarqube. Apart from these, the team also owns the localization solution and web analytics solutions for Amadeus UI application. As part of this role the replica orgs of Devrel, PM and architecture will also need to be managed.


CEQ org is part of two ART: Engineering toolchain train and ICE (IT operations and continuous exploration) Train with people spread across nice, Bangalore and Germany. The ART, at all levels, works closely with 7 other Agile Release Trains in the TSI-PFS organization, this group is a SAFe solution called SAFe Amadeus Cloud Platform (SACP).


As  Director of engineering, you will contribute to the global move to the cloud taking part of Curiosity and Imagine programs, to the design of solution to deploy applications in Test Systems on Azure without manual action, Agility transformation, Transition of Nano to Software inventor and Asset manager, etc.m You will be also involved in transversal programs, like A3E, work closely with all divisions to improve our tool chains based on customer feedback and help in Bangalore level user adoption on the end to end toolchain.


Job Description


Common accountabilities:


  • Serve as a technical advisor, harmonizing engineering processes and tools to enhance engineering efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in virtual and line organization.
  • Guide and coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues impacting business processes and outcomes.
  • Works following the overall department strategy, with no or limited supervision in a complex environment
  • Accountable for the budget, performance and results of a medium-sized team or multiple teams of employees. Influences the resource, budget and policy planning and sets concrete development plans for the team members.

Specific accountabilities:


As a Direction of engineering and leading the CEQ , you will have to:


  • Identify and coach Managers and create relays to ensure the implementation of EUS vision within the scope or CEQ
  • Determine the capacity allocation for work.
  • Guide the innovation of the Toolchain area – define method to lead the analysis process of new features / functionality before the implementation stage
  • Lead large technical transformations, such as migrating to Servicenow SPM, Asset Management, Web analytic, etc.
  • Responsible for the complete delivery of the toolchains owned in Bangalore, Data driven decisions, User adoption,etc.,
  • Identify areas and work on analysis, findings, strengths, issues, opportunities, proposals within CQS & ES2 or outside
  • Persuade and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, addressing their requirements and ensuring timely delivery of quality tooling solutions.
  • Solve problems proactively with the focus on continuous improvements.
  • Identify the required skills to cope with future technological evolution.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in toolchain management across SDLC and beyond, incorporating relevant advancements into the team's strategies.
  • Collaborate with the different train and line actors - Release Train Engineer, Product Management Team composed of a Lead Product Manager and a team of Product Managers, Product Owners and Scrum Masters.
  • Participate in key events, such as Program Increment (PI) Planning event and System Demos

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and excellence.
  • Promote stability and incident response, both internally and externally to Amadeus. Strive to drive innovation and set an exemplary standard in Amadeus’ Tooling ecosystem.
  • Promote knowledge sharing initiatives within the team, sharing insights, best practices, and lessons learned to enhance the collective expertise and improve incident response capabilities.
