Director Engineering
This role will be Engineering head for several Airline deliveries in APAC region and will be based in Bangalore. The model that will be followed will be competency centers with dedicated teams. The major responsibility will be in the digital deliveries. However, it is already expanding into various other deliveries areas like payment etc. There are several important and strategic airlines in the APAC region and there are upcoming opportunities as well. The team size would be about 60 to 80 members spread across Bangalore, Hongkong, China, Australia etc. The team will comprise of several Senior managers, managers, developers, QAs, Product Owners / Product Managers.
The role will also need to discuss and work with customer closely in terms of Techno functional workshops, Regular and steering co meetings and may also involve travel to customer locations based on need.
We are well organized in SAFe methodology over last years. There will be strong collaboration needed amongst various stake holders within Services organization, product trains, Delivery organizations, Professional Services organizations, and account teams.
Main Responsibilities
The Engineering head of APAC CC leads a department of approximatively 60 Business analysts, Software Developers, and Quality engineers in Bangalore.
The Competency Centres(CCs) manages the ecommerce deliveries of the transactional flows for several airlines. This is the critical piece of any airline in its .com and it is important the organization structure, the team can secure this working 24/7
The Engineering head of these CCs has to support the customer in their vision. Engineering Head will work closely with Customer Centre head based in various locations. Engineering head will be responsible for defining the strategy for the organization, reviewing the resource plans and help defining a vision and strategy for the Competency centre.
Skills & Knowledge – Technical / Functional and Managerial
On top of the eCommerce deliveries for the competency Center, the Engineering Head of eCom CC will have the below major role that make the challenge bigger:
- Quality of all eCom deliveries as per customer Roadmap.
- Production support activities and timely responses of any incoming incidents or issues
- Interactions with other Digital stakeholders
- Responsible for alignment of APAC SAFE Train

- Empower and support teams to act efficiently on their key of software engineering and business analyst and quality engineering missions
- Empowering, Provide challenges and development opportunities for its staff and its management team
- Contribute to people's growth and development (incl. assessment, development, coaching, motivation)
- Organise the knowledge transfer within its groups, cross teams and cross sites
- Introduces and drives change at organizational level

- Provide leadership and share direction to multiple stakeholders in Account management and R&D organisation
- Responsible over technical/functional/business strategy for area of responsibility
- Decisions are guided by functional strategies, objectives and priorities plus resource availability

Education and Years of Experience
B.E. / B. Tech (Comp Sci) from Tier-0, Tier-1 and 15+ years of experience on architecture, design, development and testing
