You will be joining the development team of Adobe Acrobat Sign which is an authority in delivering electronic signature solution services globally. You will be working with some of the best engineers in the industry, who are constantly innovating and pushing the boundaries of what is possible in electronic and digital signature technologies in this constantly evolving world of digital assets and digital workflows driving businesses today.  You will also be working with Generative AI technologies that are fast becoming crucial enabling technologies in this domain.  You will be a part of Adobe’s Document Cloud organization and will also collaborate with other Adobe teams, such as Adobe Research, Creative Cloud and Experience Cloud to create amazing digital experiences for our customers.


As a Director of Engineering, you will provide technical vision and leadership to your teams and mentor and coach them to achieve their full potential. You will foster a culture of agility, excellence, collaboration, customer focus, and ensure that your teams deliver products that meet the highest standards of quality, performance, security, and usability. You will also encourage the use of standard processes, up-to-date tools, and agile methodologies across the engineering organization. You will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of your products, from ideation to deployment, and ensure that they align with the overall business goals and customer needs. You will also be a key partner for the Product Management and Product Marketing teams and help shape the product strategy and roadmap based on market trends, customer feedback, and landscape analysis. You will lead multiple engineering teams and run development of a portfolio of products, galvanizing the teams, encourage them to innovate, build and deliver best in class products to our global customers. You will be closely working with your peers and management in the US, creating a highly effective and well-aligned India development organization for Adobe Acrobat Sign.   


Role Summary

This position offers unique opportunity to build Adobe’s flagship and award-winning products in a platform agnostic manner on cutting edge tools and technologies using the best of cloud technologies, desktop, and AI (Artificial Intelligence). Your role will involve collaborating with Product, Design, and Program Managers, as well as the Product Marketing team, to define and deliver on product roadmaps. You will also be responsible for interaction with customers (directly and through the customer success team) worldwide, understanding their needs and exceeding their expectations through deep innovation and fabulous experiences.


What you’ll do

As Director Engineering in the Acrobat Sign group, you will be responsible for leading multiple teams in Noida and Bangalore and deliver extraordinary products, with the help of multi-tiered managers reporting to you. You will:


  • Understand business goals through working closely with higher management, multi-functional team of Engineering, PM (Product Management), PMM (Product Marketing Management) and Design teams.
  • Drive strategy, architecture and development goals for various products based on strategic priorities
  • Ensure all products and solutions are delivered within the committed schedule and with quality.
  • Challenge the teams to innovate and deliver better products.
  • Partner with Product Managers to define and refine the product roadmaps.
  • Review, approve and supervise project plans and schedules of products.
  • Ensure right staffing of each development team.
  • Act as Innovation Catalyst to champion innovation in the team
  • Evangelize your products & product features both internally and externally.
  • Ensure alignment to high ethical standards and Adobe policies and processes for product development as well as people management
  • Build trust among your key customers and carry them along in your journey.  
  • Encourage interaction across teams, ensure reuse of technologies across products, wherever possible.
  • Participate in hiring top talents, for Document Cloud group as well as for broader Adobe needs.
  • Work closely with your management chain in the US to drive alignment on vision and execution.
What you need to succeed
  • More than 18 years’ experience working in software development and engineering leadership roles, with at least 8 years as a people manager.
  • Consistent track record of deliver sophisticated, enterprise grade, high-impact projects.
  • Adept at handling multiple teams - must have at least 4 years’ experience as a second level manager.
  • Experience working under/with US based management. Previous work experience in the US is a plus. 
  • Experience in leading and building large scale distributed systems, working with microservices and/or distributed architecture.
  • Experience in developing and building solutions/services using Java, J2EE, Sprint Boot, React and cloud technologies (AWS and/or Azure).
  • Not afraid to addresses unknowns, owns the outcome, demonstrates a strong bias to action.
  • Self-motivated with a desire to mentor a large team and drive the team to accomplish high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to carry and align other peers and stakeholders along with their vision.
  • Excellent speaking, writing, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to persuade, encourage, and empower others.
  • B.Tech / M.Tech degree in Computer Science from a premiere institute
