Job Description

Role Summary


We are looking for an experienced, collaborative delivery and customer focused Director of Engineering to work within the Data Office CTO function. This role is both a people leadership role, leading, managing and developing teams to effectively deliver amazing products to our customers as well has having a focus on engineering, architecture & development of the Data Office cloud based platform, effectively delivering to UK consumers. This position requires extensive hands-on technology & engineering background and execution in full stack & cloud technology.


Key Responsibilities


  • Build, develop and manage high performing, effective and successful software engineering teams
  • Attract, recruit, and retain the best talent into our engineering teams
  • Deliver secure, resilient, and quality software developed in such a way to support and drive the Data Office CTO strategy that will deliver positive outcomes and meet the agreed targets expected by the Data Office CTO Organisation. 
  • Provide leadership and guidance to multiple agile teams ensuring that best practice software development principals are adhered to.
  • Working with key Data and Commercial stakeholders to lead the delivery of roadmap in Hyderabad that achieves business goals and provide a sustainable platform for future growth and operational needs of the Data Office CTO.
  • Develops and implement new approaches to support efficient and timely delivery as well as improvements to the overall Data Office Tech platform and ways of working to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Proactively drive continuous improvement initiatives for the Data Office CTO Technology Hyderabad team and the wider Data Office teams.
  • Manages team performance and development, developing and promoting the team’s culture both within the domain but also across Data Office technology.
  • Drives increased engagement through regular, transparent feedback using appropriate reward and recognition within your domain / area of responsibility as well as the wider Data Office CTO Technology organisation.
  • Ensure the security position of the products and services under your area of responsibility is always managed and remains secure.

Qualifications
  • Strong Hands on Technical leadership role at Director level to build strong engineering teams.
  • Driving Results across multiple geographically spread teams and work collaboratively across Global & regional engineering & product teams.
  • Experience with AWS cloud Infrastructure and tools is mandatory.
  • Ability to work independently on the development of complex engineering solutions with large and complex engineering methods.
  • Proven track record in creative and innovative approaches to address customer problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead and execute projects from start to finish.
  • Familiarity with C# .NET, AWS, Python, ETL Development and Mainframe.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Expert analytical skills to evaluate understand and interpret data.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas and analysis results effectively both verbally and in writing to technical audiences.
  • Experience in technology financial budget management and working with vendor resourcing.
  • Leadership and Management: Strategic planning and execution, Team building and mentoring, Decision-making and problem-solving, Project management and resource allocation
  • Software Development: Proficiency in programming languages (e.g. C# .NET, Python, COBOL), Understanding of software development best practices, Understanding of software quality and security best practices, Expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), Mastery of microservices architecture principles Strong Understanding of DevOps Practices: Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Automated testing strategies, Monitoring and logging tools
  • Collaboration and Communication: Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences, Collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Adaptability and Learning: Willingness to stay updated on emerging technologies, Adaptability to changing business requirements, Continuous learning mindset
  • Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, Troubleshooting complex issues in distributed systems, Root cause analysis and resolution

Qualifications


  • Master’s degree in engineering, Data Science, Computer Science.
  • 15+ years of work experience in engineering, data science, and/or software development , architecture space.

This role is important to be able to deliver on the Experian Strategic Workforce Planning initiative and the Data Office Location Strategy to build out successful teams in Hyderabad. Their impact will be to both the delivery of the Data Office Strategy and also wider leadership of our teams in Hyderabad.
