Job Title: Director, Business Planning and Operations, Data Management"

Introduction to role:

Join us at AstraZeneca as a Director of Business Planning and Operations in our Data Management team. This role is a key part of our Clinical Data and Insights (CDI) function, where you will be responsible for global processes, quality, training, and metrics. You will also oversee vendor engagements and deliver strategic initiatives for Data Management. This is an opportunity to take our leading Oncology pipeline to the next level and work on the most novel molecules at all development stages.


Accountabilities:

You will lead complex strategic initiatives for Data Management, including planning and implementation with little/no direction from the executive Senior Director. You will also serve as a delegate for the Executive/Senior Director for specific tasks or activities, as necessary. Your role will involve providing oversight and advice to all staff within the function regarding all Data Management processes, deliverables, training and compliance. You will also be responsible for delivery models/vendor oversight.


Essential Skills/Experience:

"- Degree(s) in business and/or sciences, or equivalent.


- 8 -10 years proven experience in the pharmaceutical/medical/healthcare industry, development, research and/or commercial planning, and global coordination roles.


  • Ability to understand business strategy and goals and generate new strategic options.


- Experience in working with senior managers - strong strategic influencing and interpersonal skills.


  • Leadership skills, including the ability to solve problems that involve many decision makers, and develop multiple options/recommendations.


  • Extensive networking skills, ability to interact widely and effectively both within the company (on both an interdepartmental and interdisciplinary basis) and externally.


  • Proven ability to work independently, and remotely, from key customers and stakeholders and with little direction.


  • Proven project leadership/project management experience from drug and/or non-drug projects.


  • Proven ability to work with multiple customers and on multiple projects simultaneously.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build strong relationships.


  • Excellent collaboration required – needs the energy to work across global & functional boundaries both internally and externally."


Desirable

Knowledge of Data Management, Programming, Statistics or Information Practice.


Recognized expertise in one or more of the following areas: communication, capacity, recruitment, training, budget, business performance information, quality/compliance."
