As an experienced Agility Transformation Director within Firm-wide Product & Platforms function in our Enterprise Technology unit, you will function as the strategic partner to senior leaders including Chief Information Officer/Product Line General Managers, etc. to co-create and execute a transformation plan to result in a highly agile Product Portfolio - dynamic, flexible, fast, and operationally excellent. You will act as the expert in aligning the objectives of the Portfolio and Product Lines within to the appropriate frameworks, methods, tools, and standards to increase delivery capabilities, while building and leading expert Agility Leads that advance the Portfolio’s performance through coaching, training, and effective change management. Firmwide Product & Platforms line of business consists of products and platforms that support developers and their technology systems firmwide, driving key metrics on developer productivity. 


Job responsibilities


  • Works with Chief Information Officer and their leadership team to align multiple groups towards target state for many Product Lines concurrently
  • Analyze the Portfolio’s product lines by looking for gaps and impediments using Lean and business process analysis techniques; bring observations to leadership team’s attention so they may be addressed.
  • Finds patterns in complex data and situations to provide trusted recommendations to navigate impediments.
  • Brings thought leadership into team discussions e.g., sharing best practices or benchmarks.
  • Impacts behavior of senior leaders and team to think differently when priority-setting to drive transformation plan.
  • Builds out organizations and teams through knowledge of organizational design principles.
  • Addresses dependency management concerns through prioritization, reducing silos or sequencing work.
  • Educates and inspires others on topics with area of expertise including emerging tech, industry research or creative ideas that can impact business outcomes. Role model for seeking out industry best practice or emerging tech and contributing to this knowledge base. 
  • Recommends and pursues creative solutions within context of the risk environment. Understands implications of decisions on business outcomes. 
  • Guides others’ careers to build the next leaders.  Upskills both skills and behavior within the Product line.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


  • Formal training or certification on technical disciplines and 10+ years experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading strong delivery teams to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
  • Experience in a strategic Change Leadership/Transformation role for at least ten years applying Product, Lean, & Agile principles, practices, and theory in large scale Product/Portfolio ecosystems with proven track record of improving one or more aspects of value delivery 
  • Proficient Lean/Agile role experience including at least ten years in one or more of the Agile roles of Product Manager/Owner or Agility Lead 
  • Excellent skills in Facilitation, Training, Mentoring and Professional Coaching at all levels of the org
  • Understanding of major Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, LeSS, or Scrum @ Scale) and 10 or more years’ experience in one or a combined set of frameworks 
  • Strong social and emotional intelligence.
  • Good skills and knowledge of Lean, Servant Leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
  • Proven experience implementing various well-documented patterns and techniques (example: Scrum, Kanban, XP, DevOps, story mapping, example mapping, transformation plans, operating models, scaled Agile frameworks). 
  • Ability to leverage capabilities across the firm to solve local problems
  • Knowledge of industry-wide technology strategies
  • Knowledge of professional coaching approaches such as International Coaching Federation (ICF), ORSC, Co-Active, etc

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills


  • Lean Six Sigma. Agile Coaching Certification (ICE-AC, CEC, CTC) or Professional Coaching Certification (ICF-ACC, ICF-PCC or ICF-MCC)
  • Product Management Certifications (ICP-PDM, CPM, CSPO)
  • Background in working at code level
