Job Summary:


We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director - Accounts Payable to oversee the global accounts payable operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing international accounts payable functions, ensuring compliance with various regulatory requirements, and implementing best practices for efficiency and accuracy. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple time zones and cultures.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Leadership and Management:
    • Lead and manage the global accounts payable team, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
    • Develop and implement strategic plans for the accounts payable department in alignment with the company’s financial goals.
  • International Accounts Payable Operations:
  • Oversee the accounts payable processes for multiple international entities, ensuring compliance with local regulations and tax requirements.
  • Manage currency conversions, foreign exchange transactions, and cross-border payments.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with international vendors and financial institutions.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounts payable operations.
    • Develop and enforce policies and procedures to streamline accounts payable processes and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable international financial regulations and standards.
    • Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, including aging reports, payment forecasts, and cash flow analyses.
    • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during financial audits.
  • Technology and Systems:
    • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounts payable systems and software.
    • Leverage technology to automate processes and improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Vendor Management:

Manage relationships with vendors, ensuring timely and accurate payments.


Negotiate payment terms and discounts with vendors to optimize cash flow.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA or CPA preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a leadership role managing international accounts payable functions.
  • In-depth knowledge of international financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of currency exchange, foreign transaction processing, and international banking.
  • Proven experience in process improvement and implementing best practices in accounts payable.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in accounts payable software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across different cultures and time zones.
  • Occasional travel may be required to oversee international operations and attend conferences or training sessions.
