Digital Production Designer


Job Description


Miller Knoll is looking for a talented 3D Designer/Renderer to join our Creative studio - production team within Technology Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for creating stunning and realistic 3D renderings from product models or specifications. You will also create fabric wraps/skins from existing white sweep photography or 3D models. Collaborating with Asset Management, Content Production, and Merchandising teams, you will ensure that all renderings meet our high standards.



Responsibilities


  • Create/edit detailed 3D models and renderings using industry-standard software (e.g., Blender, 3ds Max, Maya, V-Ray, Arnold).
  • Wrap or skin from base white sweep images into multiple fabric or color iteration.
  • Partner with external vendors to generate models from existing configurator components.
  • Conduct lighting and shading setups to enhance realism in renderings.
  • Optimize 3D models for use across various platforms, ensuring compatibility and performance in both online and offline applications.
  • Support in creating 3D product model library for products from different brands, to set quick turnaround support in product launches.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product design and development, to ensure 3D models accurately represent product specifications and design intent.
  • Present work to stakeholders and incorporate feedback into final rendering.
  • Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to continually improve skills and outputs.
  • Provide additional support by performing tasks as needed to meet business objectives and project deadlines.
  • Undergo cross-functional training to develop expertise in multiple areas, enabling flexibility to share workloads based on project priorities, volume, and team capacity.

Skills & Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Multimedia, visual communication, or equivalent in related fields such as Mechanical or Civil Engineering, with 5 or more years of experience in Image retouching, product retouching, compositing.
  • Proven experience in 3D rendering, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering software.
  • Should be detail oriented and possess analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical and functional problems with intuitive problem-solving techniques.
  • Highly self-motivated and organized to achieve the monthly product release cycles.
  • Good communication skills verbal and written (English).
  • Strong team collaboration skills to work efficiently across departments and with remote teams.
  • Should be willing to be flexible in terms of working shifts (12.00 pm to 9.00pm IST).
