About this role


Team Overview:


DIG team is part of the Aladdin Data organization within Aladdin. Team is entrusted with maintaining all data integral to the investment decision process. The function serves BlackRock the Investment Manager and its BlackRock Solutions (BRS) business, in our proprietary Aladdin® end-to-end investment platform. This team closely partners with key internal teams, such as Portfolio Management, Global Capital Markets, Relationship Management, Portfolio Compliance, Risk Analytics, Regulatory Reporting, and others, to ensure their business data needs are met accurately, timely, and efficiently.

Responsibilities:


As an Analyst in the Data Integrity Group, you will support a growing area in a dynamic and ambitious environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include:


  • Performing as a key team member of data professionals providing operational support to BlackRock’s investment management process ensuring the highest quality security master data is available in the Aladdin platform


  • Actively support daily quality control and validation of time series data including security terms and conditions, reference, and payment data that impacts production of analytical data, as well as trading, index, and corporate action data


  • Liaison with market data vendors and market dealers to obtain the most accurate data


  • Interact with internal and external clients to serve as a financial security knowledge desk, managing expectations of service delivery, and provide superior customer service


  • Operate as part of a global team with consistent service and process


  • Constantly evaluate process and procedures for inefficiencies and make recommendations for improvement


  • Maintain procedural documentation and update as vital


This function will expose the Analyst to all of BlackRock’s and BlackRock Solutions’ tools and businesses and will require him/her to work closely with internal clients such as portfolio management, account management, administration and operations, and BlackRock Solutions, as well as external users of security data. The critical responsibilities of this position are at the core of the Data Integrity Group’s objective of providing timely, accurate, and complete data.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree is required, with preference to business fields such as Finance, Accounting, or Economics, and technical areas such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.


  • Proven experience of 4+ years in the financial services industry.


  • A “Student of the Markets” mentality: Intellectually curious with a passion for learning about the global financial markets and the investment management business.


  • Candidate must possess and demonstrate strong understanding of financial markets.


  • Natural teammate able to work in an innovative, results-oriented, and fast paced environment.


  • Have flexibility regarding their work hours.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with agile critical thinking and a problem-solving approach in order to deliver holistic solutions.


  • Knowledge of SQL, UNIX, or Python would be a plus; desire to expand technical expertise preferred.
