Overall Responsibilities:
As a DevOps Engineer in the BRM crew, you will provide technical services to the Investment Banking (IB) business divisions of the UBS group. You will implement key strategic tools that deliver analytics and case management facilities in line with established Corporate IT standards. Your role will involve designing and implementing infrastructure for cloud-based services, supporting solution delivery, and ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
Technical Skills:
Must Have:
- Proficient in GitLab, Terraform, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Strong analytical and technical skills with experience in cloud environments.
Good to Have:
- Experience with CI/CD processes.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure.
Experience:
- Minimum of 17+ years of experience working as a DevOps professional.
- At least 3+ years of experience with a modern stack, including MS Azure, containers, or Kubernetes.
- Prior experience in financial/banking sectors is desirable.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Design and implement the infrastructure and operating environment for cloud-based services, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Support solution delivery throughout the complete software development lifecycle in a dynamic and professional environment.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure solutions are designed with user experience, scalability, performance, security, and operability in mind.
- Ensure software releases align with the organization's internal software release and deployment processes.
- Facilitate troubleshooting and root cause analysis of platform issues or incidents.
- Proactively monitor for opportunities to automate, improve processes, and simplify platform architecture.
- Automate system operations to reduce toil and enhance efficiency, including infrastructure needs, software configuration, deployment procedures, and testing.
- Research and develop prototypes using the latest technologies and trends for continuous improvement of platform requirements.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Experience in handling large, complex development projects.
- Adaptable and able to work across teams, functions, and applications.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and client-focused mindset.
- Ability to come into the office 3 days a week.
