Job Description

  • Job Responsibilities:


    • Assign and monitor work of technical personnel. Ensure that quality control and reviews are maintained throughout the development and deployment processes

    • Provide technical leadership and oversight of implementation and deployment planning, system integration, quality assurance, delivery, operations, and sustainability of technical solutions

    • Ensure that DevOps projects are completed within resource, budget, and scheduling constraints 

    • Continuously improve DevOps engineering policies and standards with collaboration and input from the software engineering management team

    • Ensure all DevOps engineering projects, initiatives, and processes conform to established medical device regulations and policies associated with FDA and CE standards

    • Ensure that all DevOps engineering projects and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives 

    • Manage analysis and approval of new code through security and other performance gates. Advocate for security and performance standards within the software organization

    • Continuously evaluate DevOps engineering organizational effectiveness and implement improvements as necessary

    • Evaluate technology solutions (network/hardware related and technology/code related) and propose solutions in the context of ROI, future implications, limitations, and opportunities

    • Recruit, motivate, and direct DevOps engineering staff. Passionate about mentorship and personnel development – aptitude for cultivating high-performing teams. 

    • Provide coaching, mentoring, and employee career development.  Oversee training and development to maintain staff competence, flexibility and morale.  Establish and maintain employee goals consistent with overall business objectives and conduct employee performance reviews per company policy

  • Required Education & Experience: Associates Degree or equivalent technical Certification; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4-6 years of experience in Software Development.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Software Testing and Quality Control.
  • 1-2 years of leading a small team of developers or devOps.
  • Familiarity with scripting; writing and executing test scripts.
  • Experience working in a team-based Agile environment (preferably Scrum) with evolving requirements.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in automation scripting using one or more of the following languages: Python, Ruby, Bash, and Powershell.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • High level of initiative with ability to self-manage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
