What You’ll Do

As a Technical Engineering Manager in SAP Procurement - you will be responsible for the success of your development team. Your role will involve being hands-on technical leader, building and nurturing a high-performing, agile engineering team by providing support in their daily tasks and career growth. You'll set clear goals for team members, coaching and guiding them to achieve both their individual targets and the broader unit objectives. Collaboration will be key. You will work closely with Product Management and UX Designers as part of the Empowered Product Team, ensuring solutions are effective end-to-end. This will also involve working across different levels within the engineering unit to consistently and strategically deliver customer value. Additionally, you’ll ensure that all developed features adhere to our software development processes, product standards, regulations, and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the technical execution and quality of the team’s deliverables within the team's capacity
• Provide clarity on the implementation approach and work with the team to execute
• Collaborate with Product Management on backlog prioritization, technology, and resource allocation
• Identify and mitigate any delivery risks that could impact product success
• Partner with Product Management and UX in product discovery, translating the roadmap and vision into a clear, actionable backlog for the development team
• Ensure the product is supportable, including considerations for telemetry, performance, security, monitoring, and customer feedback mechanisms

What you bring:

• Technical competency with Java, Springboot, microservices
• Creativity combined with a pragmatic approach to feasibility and priorities
• Experience with agile development methodologies and tools, including leading agile teams
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
• A self-driven, positive, and innovative mindset
• A customer-oriented and outcome-focused approach with a quality-first attitude
• Experience with S/4HANA or Ariba Procurement Solutions
• Familiarity with SAP BTP, and Node.js and development processes within the SAP Cloud Native Products

Optional Skills:

• 12+ years of overall experience 
• 3+ years of leadership experience as a functional leader, agile leader, or people manager
• Knowledge of AI, GenAI technologies, and SAP's Business AI strategy
• Business Domain experience in SAP Procurement
