Overview
We are seeking a hardworking, highly skilled and expert Lead Engineer to join FTSE-Russell Index team of London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) based in our Bengaluru office. The team is responsible for calculation and distribution of Indexes to our customers across the world. The individual will be working on innovative technologies to automate End to End testing of the Index Platform solution, which supports the strategic growth of the FTSE Russell Index business. We are looking for an engineer coming from strong development background to build and lead the End-to-End test automation platform.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high performance, cloud native, Java based microservices. As the lead engineer, you are expected to learn and develop expertise of the Financial Indices business on the job. You’ll ensure to keep track to our product roadmaps, through the rationalisation of requirements, designing test automation solutions and planning the best course to automate the end-to-end testing of various backend user journeys. You will be responsible for leading a small team of engineers creating a culture of ownership, high quality and delivery excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Naturally curious: This is a techno-functional role suitable for someone who enjoys learning about various financial asset classes and the internal workings of Index business. You enjoy solving problems, have a strong analytical ability, and get a kick from seeking constant improvement and evolution.
Tech Expertise: Passionate about system design and development. Demonstrates depth of knowledge and expertise in software design, development and testing, act as an SME in the domain, mentor junior developers on a day-to-day basis.
Testing & Security: Lead the implementation of End-to-End automation testing. Maintain a minimum code coverage of 80%, guaranteeing applications are robust, scalable, and secure. Proactively solve production issues, deduce root causes, and implement timely fixes or workarounds.
Product Delivery: Lead individual project priorities and target commitments. Responsible for delivering commercial products on a regular basis with short cycle times.
Qualifications
Degree, Masters or equivalent education in engineering disciplines.
10+ years of shown experience in Core Backend Software Development.
Worked on at least one project using cloud hosted microservices architectures and Kubernetes.
