As a “Design Engineer – Electrical”, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of electrical control systems. You will contribute to the design and development efforts for Cytiva global library database and Cytiva’s extensive product range. You will create detailed Pneumatic and Electrical circuit drawings utilizing EPLAN. You will prepare all necessary documents to facilitate production and assembly. Engaging with teams across various locations to ensure cohesive project execution. You will be responsible for creating comprehensive electrical schematics, block cable diagrams, BOM, etc.


This position is part of the Engineering located in Bangalore and will be on-site. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.


In this role, you will have the opportunity to:


  • Component Design: Develop 2D & 3D models and detailed drawings for all electrical, electro-mechanical and mechanical components which includes motor, drive, valve, PLC, Switch, etc.,
  • Product Engineering: Support in day-to-day engineering tasks for legacy products. This will include identifying areas of improvement, executing Engineering Change Request (ECR’s), ERP system updates to BOM’s and item masters, and communicating with the Project/Product team.
  • New Product Development: Support design team in building various types of electrical and electro-mechanical components along with electrical schematics
  • Collaboration:  Cross-functional interactions with Design engineers, Program management and Product management team. Actively take part in updates to both local and global stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with QMS requirements

The essential requirements of the job include:


  • BE in Electrical / Electronics & communication/Controls Automation or an equivalent with minimum 5-8 years of industry experience having advanced knowledge in building library and electrical design.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in EPLAN Electric P8 tool is must
  • Hand-on experience with EPLAN-Electrical tool such as schematics, P&ID, wiring & cable diagram, harness, part/symbol library creation, etc is must.
  • Experience in drafting I/O cabinets layout, assembly and detailed parts for Automation panels.
  • Proficient in understanding the datasheet/specs of electrical parts such as wires, cables, motors, drives, pumps, I/O modules, PLC, analog & digital Sensors, fuses, circuit breakers, SMPS power supplies, relays.
  • Proficient in executing the change orders ECR/ECO in PLM Tool.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:


  • Proficient in AutoCAD-Electrical tool (Schematic, P&ID, wiring & cable diagram/harness, part/symbol library creation etc...) is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, CATIA or Creo software is an added advantage.
  • Familiar with International Engineering Codes and Standards
