Design Engineer- Drainage

Role description:

Design Engineer (Road Drainage) – Designing of drainage networks and 3D modelling should have good proficiency in various drainage software’s and Autodesk tools such as Civil 3D, Infraworks, Navisworks, etc.  Will have to carry out design and production Highway drainage design, 3D Modelling, CAD production and quantities with minimum support.   Experience on Major Highways/ Land Development/ Railway drainage Projects – concept design, Alternative Technical Concepts and detailed design of project. Should have handled Design – Build projects for any of international projects. Specific UK experience is most desirable.

Reporting to – Principal Engineer/Senior Engineer

Work Location: Bangalore/ Hyderabad/Noida, India

Role accountabilities:

• Responsible for end-to-end project design and delivery for road Drainage related tasks.
• Preparation / Finalization of various road related drawings at various stages of projects.
• Computation of quantities.
• Preparation of design basis reports.
• Ability to understand existing condition reports and surveys.
• Should have handled minimum of 3-4 Design projects-overseas preferably for US in Infrastructure Business. 

Should have worked for US Projects and must be conversant with relevant standards and construction practices.

Required Competencies

• Good understanding and Knowledge on international codes like AASHTO, DMRB and Euro codes along with various other International Codal Practices and Standards, Design Standards of Local County Councils
• Road Drainage Design experience using Civil 3D and good expertise in 3D modelling for proposals and Detail design projects.
• Roadway Drainage Design for various stages of Design Build Projects – Detailed design of Roadway corridor, Detailed drawings, construction support-drawings, Design Reviews, Project Management, Design Management.
• Experience in MS Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
• Read, write and speaks -English.
• Software: Navisworks, Infraworks, Open Roads, MicroDrainage, Storm CADD
• Excellent Soft Skills related to People Management (desirable)
• Strong mentoring Skills – Ability to build teams (desirable)

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education - Graduation - B.Tech/B.E. – Civil and Post Graduation – Water resource/ Environment or Civil . 
• Minimum 4-6 years of experience in a Design Consulting Environment
• Strong understanding of DMRB codes 
• Design Software – like Storm CADD/Civil Storm/Open Road (Drainage), HECRAS, HY8, Flow Master, Culvert Master, Ponds Pack, MicroDrainage Info Drainage 12D or other relevant drainage design software’s and its’ applications
• BIM Software – Civil 3D and AutoCad. MicroStation, Infraworks and Navisworks would be added advantage. 
• Delivered at least one major project for the UK Lead region in an Assistant lead role. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English), including technical report writing. 
• Organized and proactive (self- starter). 
• Knowledge of Programming (LISP, VBA, .Net, C, C++) is added advantage
