Job Description

Job Title: Design Engineer
Division: Weir Minerals
Location: Brigade Opus, Bangalore
Hybrid
Purpose of Role:To support St. Louis Business across the division in the areas of mechanical engineering related to Axial Flow Pump product line including drive system, and manufacturing support. The role involves creating design concepts, validation, engineering calculations, and CAD. Produce detailed engineering reports for use in the production of parts and assemblies. Reviews design and documentation to ensure compliance with design criteria and standards.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to Weir’s zero-harm behaviours in support of the drive towards developing a world class safety culture.


  • Create 3D CAD models , manufacturing drawings and assemblies for the Weir products and systems based on the design requirement


  • Perform engineering calculations and simulations for design validation


  • Ensure that the deliverables align with relevant design requirements (specifications, standards, schedule, etc.) and best industry practices/guidelines.


  • Execute projects as per defined quality, on time delivery & schedule.


  • Work independently without supervision.


  • Communicate/report/document technical information with project team and customer.


  • Perform drive calculations based on the inputs provided and able to independently select & decide the necessary sheaves, bushings, belts, gearbox, and couplings etc.


  • Perform quality checking of drawing generated by peers and provide feedback.



Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.


Education


B.E. in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 4-6 years’ experience in the area of mechanical engineering and system design.
