Purpose of the role


To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 


Accountabilities


  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

You'll spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence. To be successful as a Deployment Engineer you should have experience with:


  • Strong Knowledge on Windows Server 2012/2016/2022.
  • Configuration Management and automated provisioning and deployment systems and technology especially, SCCM, Adaptiva Onesite, Asset Management.
  • Citrix and Virtual Application deployment/management.
  • User Migration, Client Migration and Server Migration tooling.
  • Scripting, Capacity planning, Microsoft SQL Management Studio and Reporting.
  • Knowledge of the following is beneficial (IIS, Virtualisation technologies especially VMWare ESX, SAN/NAS).
  • Windows security – IPSEC, GPOs, Antivirus, patching, endpoint security. knowledge of PointSec, PGP, Symantec End Point protection (SEP).
  • LAN/WAN, Ethernet, TCP/IP, DMZ and routing.
  • Streaming technologies, Citrix/Xenapp.
  • HP hardware (Blades/rack mounted servers, enclosures).
  • Understanding of the Incident and Change Management process based on ITIL framework.

  • Knowledge of Service Now.
  • Effective verbal, written and presentational skills are essential.
  • Effective approach to problem investigation and resolution.
  • Strong analytical ability to develop complex software distribution solutions.
  • Proven ability to learn new skills.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of strategic software deployment toolsets and software deployment processes.
  • Experience of packaging procedures and best practice.
  • Manage workload effectively and prioritize tasks during rapidly changing priorities and schedules.
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills and able to transfer skills and knowledge to other team members.
  • Ability to rapidly assimilate technical knowledge.
  • A willingness to develop additional skills in order to enable more flexible working within the organisation.
  • A general awareness of current IT development and live systems, the Bank’s architectures and strategies and computing trends.
  • A logical, analytical approach to problem solving and close attention to detail.
