Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Demi Chef De Partie specializing in Indian Cuisine to join our culinary team in Mysuru, India. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing authentic Indian dishes, maintaining high standards of food quality, and contributing to the overall success of our culinary operations.
- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation
- Assist the Chef de Partie in managing the assigned kitchen section
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service
- Contribute to menu development and suggest improvements to existing recipes
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in Indian cuisine techniques
- Manage inventory and minimize food waste in your section
- Assist in food cost control and portion management
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute ideas for kitchen efficiency
- Adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience (2-3 years minimum) as a Demi Chef de Partie or similar role, preferably in Indian cuisine
- In-depth knowledge of various Indian regional cuisines and cooking techniques
- Proficiency in preparing and presenting high-quality Indian dishes
- Strong knife skills and ability to operate standard kitchen equipment
- Excellent understanding of food safety principles and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Team player with excellent communication abilities
- Culinary degree or diploma preferred
- Current food safety certification
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
