Responsibilities


  • Analyzing and troubleshooting planned production scheduling problems; recommending process improvements to optimize the scheduling process.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve product-related issues and incorporate customer and business requirements.
  • Directing complex production schedules; reviewing workflow of production workers, inventory levels, capacity constraints, machine breakdowns, product quality, etc. to ensure operational excellence.

  • Designs a standard operating procedure, detailing steps and activities, within a department; develops procedures, processes, and controls to implement and execute policy requirements.
  • Optimizes complex SOPs according to changes in organizational procedures.
  • Monitors the relationship between SOPs and performance improvement (e.g. quality improvement).
  • Evaluates the benefits and drawbacks of industry-specific SOPs.

  • Advises others in the selection and implementation of demand forecasting and management software.
  • Trains others on implementing approaches for creating annual and long-term demand forecasts.

  • Selects appropriate forecasting techniques for each product line and plant.
  • Teaches others about the use and impact of historical data in forecasting.

Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP): Knowledge of the processes, practices and systems used in manufacturing requirements planning (MRP); ability to optimize planning for manufacturing cycles and ensure capacity and materials availability.


Level Extensive Experience: 


  • Monitors total plant production scheduling vis-a-vis orders.
  • Evaluates considerations for synchronizing demand for products with production capabilities.
  • Participates in sequencing work to meet targeted delivery dates for multiple and critical orders.
  • Participates in setting parameters for reorders, min/max levels, lead days and job days.
  • Coordinates capacity and materials planning for net demand within a planning period.
  • Adjusts plans based on sales forecasts, custom orders and demand-driven orders.

Production Scheduling and Control: Knowledge of procedures and tools for scheduling and controlling production runs; ability to utilize knowledge of daily manufacturing processes to assure quality deliverables.
 


Level Extensive Experience: 


  • Manages the job cycle to ensure completion of jobs according to agreed-upon schedules.
  • Communicates with customers and sales staff on scheduled and unscheduled production work.
  • Resolves critical or costly workflow problem areas and recommends improvements.
  • Schedules and oversees all production runs for a specific plant or assembly line.
  • Produces master schedules for overall plant activities; shows all dependencies and contingencies.
  • Oversees production acceptance testing and associated performance measures


The D&O manager along with his team will also ensure the following job requirements for the facility


  • Participate in Demand review and understand demand pattern and demand inputs
  • Co-ordinate with Supply Team ( Factory, Purchase, SC ) to understand Rough cut capacities, constraints and Lead times
  • Formulating Supply plan and conduct Supply plan review meeting with Demand and Supply process partners
  • Establishing Lane availability and ensuring the adherence
  • Creating Build and Ship plans and ensure to achieve the set goals
  • Ensuring Ship plans established and OPD ( Order promise dates) are adhered as per corporate targets
  • Ensuring Value streams are loaded with defined build rates and sequence are maintained
  • Monitor and mitigate SOL, EOL and RTS plans are achieved.
  • Initiate RCCA ( Route cause and corrective actions ) on daily build performance
  • Material requirement planning and monitoring ( MRP Planning )
  • Customer order processing and effective communications with Dealers / Customers
  • Co-ordinate and support aftermarket parts support
  • Compliance requirements in the areas of Export control, Customs, Tax and Sox controls on prime products and components 
  • Establish and adhere SOP ( Standard operating procedure ) on the Demand and order functions
  • Monitor and dispose Excess and obsolete parts and initiate RCCA
