Data Transformation Analyst I


Department overview:


Team is responsible for collecting and maintaining data which provides insight into who is holding, and investing in publicly traded securities, across the world. The data is collected from various regulatory filings, vendors, notifications or press releases and transform the raw information into usable intelligence that can give the clients a competitive edge. This data is used across multiple products by clients to facilitate transactions in the capital markets.



Position summary:


In this role, you will work closely with members of our global teams, adding value to our content, as you help to ensure the highest possible levels of data quality, timeliness and completeness.  You’ll be responsible for helping to drive production, process and content improvements across the group. You’ll be given the support and direction you’ll need to help you succeed, while working as part of a diverse and experienced, passionate team.  As a RA/SRA with our Ownership team, you will gain invaluable insight into the areas of data collection, data processing, operations management, and financial services. In addition to operations related roles, the RA/SRA position provides a solid background for Account Managers, product development/management, content specialists, content strategy, data management, and project management


Responsibilities:


  • Understanding sources of ownership information, key stakeholders, and the full cycle of the data
  • Running reports from multiple databases, analyzing the content and results to ensure expected results are obtained
  • Applying capital markets knowledge to aggregate the information. This includes identifying which data points are important and which are extraneous
  • Preparing data to connect into our proprietary systems for further analysis
  • Testing new software releases, providing feedback to the development team as necessary
  • Interacting with internal clients, and well as external contacts
  • Assisting with the collection and processing of data
  • Monitoring workflow, data timeliness and quality
  • Offering suggestions for content, processing and application improvements

Education and experience


  • Master’s degree.
  • Fluency in English, spoken and written.
  • 0 - 2 years of experience in data research

Desired Skills


  • Computer Literacy
  • Good numerical skills to ensure understanding of the financial data to be collected and/or processed
  • Analytical skills and detail orientation to ensure accuracy of data
  • Knowledge of financial markets to ensure effective understanding of assigned content/market
  • A willingness to learn, with a passion for analyzing the equity/fixed income markets. Strong attention to detail
  • Superior analytical reasoning and oral communication skills
  • An ability to work independently and within a dynamic team
  • An ability to absorb large amounts of information in a high energy, fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented; able to multi-task; strong organizational skills
