We are seeking a Data Steward to join our Data Management team, working closely with business partners across the company globally. You will support data quality initiatives, with a primary focus on executing data change requests and performing necessary data entry in our core domains. Secondary responsibilities include providing input on the prioritization of data and process challenges with Data Owners, in pursuit of improving enterprise data hygiene. This role will also collaborate with other Data Management resources to socialize these efforts.


The ideal candidate for this role is naturally curious, detail oriented, possesses a business-focused perspective, and enjoys working with a variety of stakeholders to dig into and solve data issues.


Primary responsibilities:


  • Monitor and execute processes for new data requests, changes, and deletions, ensuring accurate data entry in relevant systems.


  • Perform internet research, validate addresses, and utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis.


  • Identify patterns in data issues and initiate the appropriate corrective actions or applicable escalation help chains to enable success.


  • Support and lead customer master workstreams focused on defining and improving data quality.


  • Build trust and expertise through ongoing coordination with Process Owners, SMEs, Analysts, and Functional Data Stewards.


  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within data management processes.


  • Closely monitor and identify missing or incorrect core data via defined processes, reports, and tools


  • Collaborate with other Data Stewards to analyze data for quality and balancing data issues.


  • Develop and present analysis and findings to the Core Data Management (CDM) team when appropriate.


  • Actively partner with cross-functional users to understand business needs and provide master data subject matter expertise in both daily operations and project contexts


  • Positively contribute to project success in line with F5 values, fostering collaboration.


  • Take ownership of operational tasks and provide team support, including out-of-office coverage when needed.


  • Act as a peer-to-peer coach, supporting and onboarding new team members to ensure smooth knowledge transfer.


  • Create and maintain consistent reference data and enterprise core data definitions


Knowledge, skills and abilities to be successful:


  • Proven attention to detail, with ability to “dive deep” into data issues to find root causes that lead to quality/process improvement.


  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, listen and influence across organizational boundaries.


  • Demonstrated ability to document, communicate, and guide teams through data quality improvement efforts.


  • Positive, self-motivated, flexible, persistent, with good interpersonal skills


  • Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) principles and workflows (especially Customer MDM)


  • Knowledge of enterprise MDM tool suites such as Informatica, Oracle, etc.


  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic SQL querying.


  • Working knowledge of ticketing systems and of managing backlogs (ServiceNow)


  • SharePoint, ServiceNow, Excel PowerBI, and Tableau knowledge (preferred)


  • Understanding of Business Transactional Systems (such as Salesforce, Oracle EBS, Siebel CRM)


  • Previous work experience in data quality space leveraging third-party reference data (such as Dun & Bradstreet, and Acxiom)


  • Previous work experience conducting quality reviews comparing master data against transactional systems data


  • Deep knowledge of customer installs base/asset management processes and best practices, inclusive of constraints, compliance, and associated downstream implications.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Economics/Finance, Math/Statistics, MIS, or other computational field of study (preferred)


  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Data Management and Governance position


Physical demands and work environment:


Duties are performed in Hyderbad in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table. Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, & read printed material.
