Job Description: Data Solution Designer

Designation: Specialist

Overall Responsibilities:


  • Lead the design and implementation of high-performance data solutions across diverse domains and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical strategies and provide guidance on solution paths.
  • Architect and implement end-to-end Big Data solutions, focusing on data integration and governance.
  • Ensure stakeholder alignment on solution design options, including cost, scalability, timeliness, and robustness.
  • Drive complex engineering projects, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.

Software Requirements:


  • Extensive understanding and implementation of data models using techniques such as Data Vault, Kimball, and 3NF.
  • Expertise in data warehousing and enterprise analytics solutions on platforms like Teradata.
  • Proven ability to design data integration and API solutions incorporating various ingestion patterns (real-time, batch).
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services and architectures, with practical experience in implementing scalable solutions.

Technical Skills (Categorywise):


  • Data Modelling & Warehousing:


    • Data Vault, Kimball, 3NF methodologies
    • Design patterns (FSLDM, IBM IFW DW)
    • Dimensional and non-dimensional schema design
  • Big Data Technologies:


    • Hadoop ecosystem (Hive, HDFS, Pig, HBase, Flume, Kafka, Sqoop, YARN, Impala)
    • Spark and various ETL frameworks
  • Cloud Platforms:


    • AWS services (S3, Redshift, RDS, Lambda, Glue)
    • AWS data integration tools (AWS Data Pipeline, AWS Glue)
    • Serverless architectures and containerization (AWS Lambda, ECS/EKS)
  • Programming Languages:


    • Proficiency in Java, Python, Scala
    • Strong SQL knowledge for data profiling tasks

Experience:


  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in data architecture, solution design, and implementation.
  • Specialized experience in complex projects with a strong data integration focus.
  • Prior experience in the Banking & Financial sector, with knowledge of the Financial Crime domain (e.g., AML/CTF) is preferred.

Day-to-Day Activities:


  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and design effective data solutions.
  • Conduct data modeling sessions and create conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Develop and review solution designs ensuring alignment with strategic goals and operational needs.
  • Monitor and optimize data solutions for performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in data architecture, cloud technologies, or big data platforms are a plus.
