Data Scientist - Job Description Summary


Craft and develop new methodologies, quantitative models, analysis, and commentary (as relevant) that improve existing or new processes. Maintain existing product performance and independent analysis standards. Internally, work with various groups to grow new insights and expand the scope of existing products.

Data handling, data processing and programming


Support delivery of new or enhanced capabilities by defining requirements and/or leading projects


Translate business needs into solution requirements. Write functional and non-functional specifications


Propose and implement improvements to products and processes


Develop automated solutions for sourcing/loading Ownership data into database


Analyze Legal entity content to establish patterns/trends


Build extraction solutions based on different document formats


Develop, improve, and run quantitative models


Generate solutions through machine learning for core processes


Work with business, content, and product groups for large-scale analytics problems


Build POCs, visualizations and pipeline tools for product design and development


Work with development groups for deployment of analytics solutions


Engage with other internal teams as needed, with supervision. 


Maintain process documentation


Testing and validation of tools and processes


Knowledge & Skill:


Extensive experience in using Python or equivalent


Experience in AI / ML Technology implementation


Experience in crafting, developing, and deploying sophisticated statistical models based on machine learning and deep learning algorithms.


Proven understanding of statistical concepts


Proficient in using tools and libraries such as Scikit-learn, NumPy, Pandas


Proficient with anyone of the deep learning frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.


Solid understanding of HTML, CSS and Web scraping


Strong Problem-solving competence


Solid grasp of relational database and SQL skills.


Good understanding of REST API architecture and containers (Kubernetes or Docker).


Ability to handle large quantities of data


Narrate stories (to technical and mostly non-technical audience) about our content and processes by data analysis and visualization


Strong written, communication and presentation skills.  Able to respond and present work to peers, senior management, and other partners


Qualification:


Bachelors/Masters in Engineering or Higher education in Statistics, Mathematics or related quantitative subject area with Data science certification


Desired Skills:


2+ years of Data Science project experience in Finance domain is helpful
