The Lead Data Specialist provides data management, analysis, and insights within the Cat Digital Aftermarket Sales & Services Deployment team to support aftermarket growth commitments and reporting.
The mission of Aftermarket Sales & Services Deployment team is to enable services growth goals by ambitiously transforming the way we serve our customers by providing insights to deliver outstanding customer experience, serve as a source for execution and strategic planning to drive tool and service adoption and sales to users growth.  
This role will work directly with the DSD, Sales Execution, the Dealers and other business partners across the organization to drive data quality and integrity to better serve the customer and deliver our services growth targets.


Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
• Work directly on complex problems and provide solutions aligned with overall objectives of Cat Digital.
• Competent to perform all necessary data related task which could include data design, data quality, metadata management, data governance or data architecture. 
• Lead and evaluate business requirements that impact the Caterpillar enterprise, dealership partners, and other internal and external customers. 
• Liaises with data creators to support project planning, training, guidance on standards, and the efficient creation/maintenance of high-quality data
• Contributes to policies, procedures, and standards as well as technical requirements
• Create the data management strategy and define continuous improvement goals of data quality, governance and processes. 
• Lead communication across various lines of businesses and technology partners to constantly monitor, collect, review, and roadmap business data requirements, and related technology solutions.
• Ensure compliance with the latest data standards supported by the company, and brand, legal, information security (data security and privacy compliance). 
• Lead the functional technology of the data management systems as they change with upgrades and new releases.
• Maintain existing data quality scorecard measurements, executing of scorecards, resolving exceptions with data owners and source systems
• Accountable to design robust, scalable database and data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) solutions 
• Lead development of new data models for domains to be deployed including a logical data model, candidate source lists, and canonical formats.
• Lead the ETL & data ingestion specifications identifying source systems and solve technical and administrative problems during the ETL process.
• Lead data object pipeline specifications including detailed field level mapping, business rules, data quality rules, etc.
• Creates, updates, and enhances metadata policies, processes and catalogs
• Drives alignment and coordination of data governance efforts
 
Skills:
• Proven experience leading the implementation of information processing and operation standards to protect and manage information assets.
• Consults on information architecture concepts, disciplines and practices.
• Experience working with a specific cloud service models such as AWS or Azure for Platform as a Service (PaaS).
• Carries out tasks, under supervision, to increase capacity or add capabilities through cloud computing. 
• Proven experience creating complex queries working with SQL
• Proven experience working with ETL tools such as Talend and Alteryx
• Proven experience working with BI tools such as PowerBI or Tableau


Top candidates will have:
• 5 to 8 years of experience in analytics positions
• Deep knowledge of aftermarket applications 
• Must have demonstrated experience of translating analysis to insights 
• Demonstrate strong initiative to research and apply new methods to exceed customer expectations
• Comfortable working with large datasets and leveraging data and insights to make recommendations and influence others
• Highly organized with careful attention to detail
• Must have strong presentation skills.
