Job Description

About the role:

As a Mid-Level Data Scientist, you will apply your analytical skills and knowledge to develop data-driven solutions that provide valuable insights for the business. We are seeking a proactive and skilled individual who can interpret data and turn it into actionable insights, supporting informed decision-making within the organization. In this role, you will work collaboratively with business and functional stakeholders to understand their needs and identify opportunities to utilize data effectively. Your contributions will play a key role in informing Takeda’s business strategy and deriving conclusions that enhance the company's ability to connect with patients more efficiently.

In this role, you will be a part of the PDT Digital Insights and Analytics team. This team drives business insights through IT data analytics techniques such as pattern recognition, AI/ML, and data modelling, to analyze and interpret the organization’s data with the purpose of drawing conclusions about information and trends. This role will work closely with the Data Science Lead and Mids. This role will align to the Cloud & Custom Development chapter of the ICC.

This position will report to the Data Science Senior for strategic direction.

How you will contribute:

• Support the Senior Data Scientist and team members in defining business requirements, participating in workshops and/or prototyping sessions to enhance analytics product functionality.
• Support the lifecycle of data science and AI projects and products, ensuring successful and timely delivery
• Partner with various business units to identify and capitalize on opportunities for data-driven decision-making
• Present data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders
• Assist in the development of forecasting models that process and analyze data to identify key trends and insights, contributing to the team's understanding of business dynamics.
• Explore the integration of General AI and other emerging technologies into existing Data Science practices to enhance business capabilities and assist in communicating the benefits of these solutions to business partners.
• Ensure code quality and consistency by following the processes laid out to ensure high-quality, efficient, and secure AI and data science, while also fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

Preferred requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Economics or related quantitative fields, (Master’s degree preferred)
• For a Master's or a PhD, it is expected to have a minimum of 1 years of AI/Machine Learning/ Data Science experience in technology companies, Life Sciences, Pharma, Biotech, or relevant regulated industries (banking, insurance etc.). Minimum 3 years of production level experience after bachelor's degree.
• Understanding of applied statistical modelling and ML techniques (e.g. Clustering, Classification, Regression, Dimensionality Reduction, Ensemble Methods, Natural Language Processing)
• Programming & Data Engineering: Experience in Python, PySpark, or R for data curation, transformation, analysis, modeling, and visualization tasks.
• Analytical Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, focused on delivering actionable business solutions.
• Strong presentation and communication skills, client service and technical writing skills for both technical and business audiences.
