The Data Quality Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and integrity of data within our real estate databases. This role includes performing data validation, deduplication, and remediation activities. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of critical data elements and will conduct comprehensive research and validation using authoritative sources like the company website and D&B Hoovers. They will also be responsible for analysing and updating the relationships between primary and subsidiary companies, ensuring accurate and actionable data for business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess an advanced understanding of critical data elements, engage in complex data analysis, support strategic projects aimed at data governance improvements and mentoring junior analysts.


Responsibilities


Advanced Data Validation


  • Lead validation efforts for critical company information including names, addresses, websites, and other key attributes.
  •  Guide junior analysts in using authoritative sources such as company websites and D&B Hoovers to ensure data accuracy.
  • Establish standards for data validation and ensure these standards are met consistently across projects.
  • Lead initiatives to enrich missing data attributes with verified information, aiming for continuous data improvement.

Data Deduplication and Quality Control


  • Supervise deduplication efforts, implementing advanced data analysis and fuzzy matching techniques to detect potential duplicate companies.
  • Develop and refine automated and manual deduplication processes for optimal data integrity.
  • Monitor data quality metrics, conduct root cause analyses of data discrepancies, and provide corrective actions.

Data Remediation and Issue Resolution


  • Oversee the remediation of data discrepancies by collaborating with internal stakeholders and resolving issues effectively.
  • Mentor junior team members in updating and correcting erroneous data points, including addresses, company names, and business identifiers.
  • Ensure the consistent and accurate maintenance of records, aligning with business standards and governance policies.

Relationship Management and Hierarchy Establishment


  • Lead efforts to analyse and establish primary-subsidiary relationships within the company database.
  • Develop and maintain a clear hierarchy of parent-child companies, ensuring comprehensive reporting and analysis capabilities.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure accurate linking and maintenance of subsidiary data.

Strategic Reporting & Documentation


  • Document validation and deduplication outcomes, providing comprehensive reports on changes and rationales.
  • Prepare in-depth data quality reports on metrics, trends, and corrective actions, offering insights for continuous improvement.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for data quality, driving transparency in data governance.

Cross-functional Collaboration & Communication


  • Partner with data stewards, analysts, and stakeholders to capture data requirements and align quality initiatives with business goals.
  • Lead discussions with stakeholders regarding data quality issues, proposing robust remediation strategies.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to implement tools and enhancements that support data quality improvements across the organization.

Data Validation


Perform validation of company information including names, addresses, websites, and other key attributes. Utilize company websites, D&B Hoovers, and other reliable sources to verify the accuracy of data. Ensure critical data elements meet quality standards before they are used by stakeholders. Validate and enrich missing data attributes with verified information.


Data Deduplication


Conduct data analysis to identify and eliminate duplicate company records in the database. Use fuzzy matching techniques to detect potential duplicate companies and assess their validity. Implement automated and manual deduplication processes to maintain a clean and reliable database.


Data Remediation


  • Investigate data discrepancies and work with internal stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Update and correct erroneous data points, including incorrect addresses, company names, and business      identifiers.
  • Ensure records are accurately maintained and are consistently monitored for compliance with business standards.

Relationship Management


  • Analyse and establish primary-subsidiary relationships between companies.
  • Maintain a clear hierarchy of parent-child companies to enable accurate reporting and data analysis.
  • Liaise with other teams to ensure that subsidiary data is linked correctly and maintained regularly.

Reporting & Documentation


  • Design, develop, and maintain reporting systems and dashboards.
  • Create and update documentation for processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Collect, analyse, and interpret data from multiple sources.
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports for various stakeholders.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of all reports and documentation.
  • Collaborate with different departments to understand their reporting needs.
  • Develop and implement documentation standards and best practices.
  • Train staff on proper documentation techniques and reporting procedures.
  • Maintain a centralized repository for all reports and documentation.
  • Continuously improve reporting processes and documentation quality
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Assist in audit preparations by providing necessary reports and documentation.

Collaboration & Communication


  • Collaborate with data stewards, analysts, and stakeholders to gather data requirements and align quality initiatives with business needs.
  • Participate in meetings with stakeholders to discuss data quality issues and propose remediation strategies.
  • Work with IT teams to implement tools and processes that facilitate data quality improvements.

Qualifications:


Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in information systems, Business, Data Science, or related field.


Experience:


Seeking a Senior Analyst with 9+ years of experience in data stewardship, with expertise in handling company duplicates, missing and invalid data, company hierarchy maintenance (parent-subsidiary relationships), and validation of company, contact, and property data using sources such as company websites, Google, and third-party vendors like D&B Hoovers. The ideal candidate should be able to quickly understand complex data, adapt to the real estate industry if not already experienced, and effectively interpret and document stakeholder requirements into Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and business requirement documents (BRD). Additionally, they should have strong stakeholder management skills, ensuring clear communication of data processes through well-defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The candidate should also possess experience in risk management, ensuring compliance with data policies while handling escalations and resolving issues related to data accuracy, governance, and process integrity.


Technical Skills


  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Advanced Microsoft Excel, VBA, Power Query, SQL, Python, Data bricks or similar.
  • Knowledge on data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Familiarity with data validation tools and techniques, especially for business entities (e.g., D&B Hoovers).
  • Experience with CRM and/or data governance tools is a plus.

Knowledge


  • Strong understanding of critical data elements and data quality principles.
  • Experience in validating company information from external sources.
  • Knowledge of primary-subsidiary company relationships and organizational hierarchies.

Soft Skills


  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with stakeholders.
