Job Description

Role Objective: To ensure compliance with  data laws & regulations and act as a trusted advisor to the Business on all matters related to data privacy & protection. Ensures adherence to Company directives, policies and processes as may be applicable from time to time.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, establish, implement, perform, or support an effective data privacy governance & control framework for compliance with the applicable data privacy laws such as evaluating of processing activities, framing privacy policy, supporting in Data Privacy Impact assessment, Data privacy incident management, handle data subject requests etc., in order to prevent, identify and support with the rectification of data privacy risks.
  • Draft, implement and ensure execution of data privacy programs, policies, guidelines, and procedures in consultation with stakeholders for compliance with internal company rules as well as applicable data privacy laws. 
  • Provide guidance to management, businesses, functions on data privacy and protection. 
  • Impart regular data privacy trainings at organization level & provide functional guidance to Data Privacy Ambassadors
  • Review, draft, and negotiate Data Processing Agreements and other relevant documents such as vendor contract, customer contracts, employment contracts etc. from the perspectives of data privacy
  • Serve as one point of contact within the organisation as well as outside the organisation e.g. for representations, reporting and cooperation with industry bodies, authorities including Data Protection Authority
  • Promote culture of data protection and compliance across all units and group companies of Siemens Healthineers in Zone India.
  • Keep Global Head of Data Privacy informed on all material data privacy topics in the Zone India.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including but not limited to Siemens Healthineers data privacy specialists, IT/Cybersecurity specialists, Data Privacy Ambassadors, or other functions in headquarter and Zone India 

Coordinate & conduct data privacy audit. 
Key Attributes & Competencies
  • Expertise & exposure in data privacy & protection regulation both from legal as well as technical perspectives. Good understanding of privacy framework. 
  • Ability to exercise judgement on complex issues effectively. 
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in collaboration with multiple stakeholders with diverse expectations.  
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills, with attention details 

Qualifications & Experience 
  • Must have a Law degree from a reputed law college in India or from international college. Preference for additional qualification in data privacy & protection or information technology. 
  • 8-12 years of post-qualification experience in a law firm or inhouse Data data privacy organisation preferably in Medtech, IT, ITES, E-Commerce or companies processing large amount of personal data.   
  • Independently handling of data privacy matters of a large organisation.
