We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of a Senior Lead Architect
In this role, you will:
- The Data & MI Architect will work with the leadership of Risk & Compliance, the FinCrime value stream, product ownership and Engineering, helping them define their technology vision and strategy.
- This role will be one of the principal enablers in ensuring the Financial Crime Business strategy is able to be realised through identifying, designing and supporting the delivery of the key Technical Capabilities with the Data & MI estate
- Additionally, the Data & MI Architect will ensure the architecture governance practices are followed and designs are correctly aligned and supportive of the related Compliance & HSBC strategies (Tech, Data, Cloud, Security, etc.).
- The Data & MI Architect will be responsible for creating and owning architecture deliverables as part of the project architecture team
- Contributing to the target architecture definition and delivery, including identification of opportunities for simplification
- Liaising with many geographically dispersed teams to coordinate solution design
- Producing both written and verbal knowledge transfer documentation in preparation for transitioning the solution to BAU ownership by the client
- Understanding the business and organizational context of the client engagement and using this knowledge to reduce risks
- You will be tenacious about doing things the right way and building efficient and ‘brilliantly simple’ business solutions. You will also be adept at working in customer facing roles within enterprise environments, helping clients to capitalise on technology for their commercial benefit.
- The foundation experiences that will be likely to underpin future success are:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Should be able to handle aggressive timelines and juggle multiple projects and responsibilities.
- A strong technical and solution architecture background built upon software engineering experiences
- A track record of owning and delivering solutions across a broad spectrum of the project delivery lifecycle in involving mixed shore resources
- The ability to communicate efficiently upwards (to business), downwards (to IT teams) and laterally (to peers, vendors, and client-side staff)
- Familiarity with technology concepts, roles, and terminology, and the ability to work closely with business and data architects
- Familiarity with API design and an awareness of microservice and event driven architectures
- The ability to serve as an active participant in architecture groups and forums communicating solution strategy and design in conversation, documentation, and presentations
- In addition to the above, the following background experience would be highly beneficial:
- Consultancy / customer facing experiences within a software vendor or enterprise scale services environment
- Financial Services domain knowledge with practical experience of mobilizing technology to meet the market dynamics effecting the financial services domain (Risk / Cost / Customer)
- A track record of successful refactoring / tech-debt remediation projects
