Data is at the heart of Aladdin and increasingly the ability to acquire, store, analyse and gain insight from data has become a key component of our competitive advantage. The Aladdin Data (AD) team is responsible for the data ecosystem within BlackRock. Our goal is to build and maintain a leading-edge Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) that provides highly available, consistent data of the highest quality for all users of the platform, notably investors, operations teams and data analysts internally and at investment management firms around the world.
EDP supportsfour outcomes that, together, enable BlackRock’s data strategy:
Provide high quality, reliable dataand services to power the core investment processes for Aladdin clients
Enable Aladdin clients to reduce operational overhead and improve client service by offering both Aladdin data and BlackRock-generated premium content through a commercial data platform, Aladdin Data Cloud (ADC)
Acquire, process, and deliver well-governed data for internal AI agents and the teams building and using AI
Provide a general-purpose Data Platform as a Service (DPaaS)to enableteams across BlackRock to focus on extracting value form their data
Members of the AD team get to experience working at one of the most recognized financial companies in the world, while being part of the design and build ofaleading-edge data platform to automate data acquisition, ingestion, transformation, and distribution, and to support enterprise-wide data processing. Our product managers and engineers design and build data systems to solve some of the most complex technical and business data management problems in the industry, and they partner with data and analytics experts to deliver high quality analytical and derived data to our internal and external customers.
About this role
We are looking for a Director of Productto enable our internal customers to successfullyadopt EDP. In this role, you will lead the team responsible for assistingEDP’s users - including Aladdin’s data engineers, AI teams, and DPaaSadopters– as they onboard their data and consumption to EDP. You will define and provide workflows, tools, documentation, and assistance to help adopting teams self-onboard;identify bottlenecks and pain points in the platform’s capabilities and user experienceand work with the wider EDP product and engineering teams to resolve these; and develop KPIs to objectively measure the value that the platform delivers to its adopters.
Responsibilities:
Customer Success Strategy: Develop and execute a customer-centeredstrategy to drive newadoption of EDP by internal BlackRock teams, and to expand existing teams’ use of the platform.
Adoption Consultation: Work with adopting teams to understand their specific use cases and goalsfor using the platform; provide guidance to help them deploy and use EDP effectively, employingthe platform’s full capabilities to meet their goals.
Migration Planning: Collaborate closely with adopters, engineering teams,data governance, operations, andprogram managers to support developing realistic programs of work to transition from existing data platforms to EDP; define the measures of success for the migration programs.
Relationship Management: Develop strong, long-term relationships with EDP adopters to measure and ensure their ongoing satisfaction, anticipate challenges, and identify improvement opportunities for the platform.
User Experience: Work with UX specialists and the wider EDP product team to champion a low-frictionuser experience for adopters and their data consumers, focusing on the platform’susability, intuitiveness, and overall user satisfaction.
Adoption and Evangelism: Promote adoption of EDPacross the organization, providing demonstrations, training, documentation, and support as needed. Act as a vocal advocate for the platform both internally and externally.
ValueDelivery: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the business value delivered by EDP, iterating based on insights and feedback.
Team Development: Build, lead, and mentor the team supportting platform adoption, and help to grow the next generation of BlackRock technologists by maturing the team’s operating model and working practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 12 years of experience, with at least 7 years in a leadership role focused on enablingadoption ofcloud-based data platforms or Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings.
Experience building and leading high performing customer success teams, and a track record of driving product adoption and expansionwithin complex enterprise environments.
Experience working in and with globally distributed teamsin a scaled Agile environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to acquire and translate data-driven insights into actionable product strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence both technical and business stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Experienceusing industrystandard communication tools and technologies, e.g. Miro, Visio, PowerPoint, Wiki.
