About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled Data ETL Developer to design, develop, and maintain ETL processes essential for extracting, transforming, and loading data into our cloud data warehousing solution, Snowflake. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with ETL tools, the Hadoop ecosystem, and data modeling, and will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of data quality and governance.Software Requirements:
- Proficiency in ETL tools such asInformatica (PowerCenter, Cloud)
- Strong experience with theHadoop ecosystem(HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Pig)
- Expertise in cloud data warehousing solutions, particularlySnowflake
- Knowledge ofSQLanddata modeling
- Familiarity with data integration and transformation techniques
- Understanding ofdata governanceanddata quality principles
Overall Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Snowflake and other data warehouses.
- Collaborate with data architects and analysts to understand data requirements and ensure the timely and accurate delivery of data.
- Optimize ETL processes for performance and scalability.
- Implement data quality checks and governance policies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data issues and discrepancies.
- Document ETL processes and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data engineering.
Category wise Technical Skills:
- ETL Tools : Experience with Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica Cloud.
- Big Data Technologies : Proficient in Hadoop (HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Pig).
- Cloud Platforms : Expertise in Snowflake for cloud-based data warehousing.
- Database Management : Strong understanding of SQL and familiarity with NoSQL databases.
- Scripting Languages: Proficient in Python and Shell scripting.
- Data Modeling: Understanding of Star Schema and Snowflake Schema models.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g.,Tableau,Power BI).
- Familiarity withApache Sparkfor distributed data processing.
- Knowledge ofdata lakesanddata mesh architecture.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Design and implement ETL workflows based on business requirements.
- Monitor ETL jobs and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- Collaborate with data analysts to provide actionable insights from data.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices.
- Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Provide support during data migration and integration projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree inComputer Science,Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in ETL tools or data engineering (e.g.,Informatica,Snowflake) are a plus.
