Job Title: Data Engineering Leader - Offshore (Bangalore)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Data Engineering Leader to lead an outsourced delivery team responsible for implementing and maintaining modern cloud-based data platforms based in Bangalore. In this hands-on leadership role, you will be key in driving business outcomes by managing data ingestion pipelines, curating clean datasets, and enabling critical business processes across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage an offshore technical team, ensuring collaboration with both onshore and offshore teams.
- Hands-on involvement in coding, reviewing, and mentoring the team on best practices for data engineering solutions.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines that support key business processes and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure team activities comply with data governance policies and align with the organization’s business objectives.
- Conduct regular code reviews and mentor junior engineers in data engineering best practices.
- Work closely with the Head of Engineering to ensure the data platform strategy aligns with the business goals.
- Integrate data solutions with cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability and security.
Experience & Qualifications:
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering or software development with a proven record of leadership.
- Extensive experience with Databricks and Azure Data Lake.
- Strong expertise in structured and semi-structured datasets and managing data pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and experience with R.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory or Databricks for data ingestion.
- Deep understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data lake architecture, and Delta tables.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Spotfire.
- Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and Azure DevOps or similar tools.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively present technical concepts to senior management and business stakeholders.
