Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement data repository discovery strategies.
Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and other stakeholders to identify sensitive data stores, integration workflows, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
Partner with AI/ML cybersecurity team to identify and classify large datasets.
Utilize tools and technologies to identify and classify sensitive data across various data sources.
Collaborate with data governance, security, and IT teams to ensure proper data handling and protection.
Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure data classification accuracy.
Create and maintain documentation for data discovery and classification processes.
Provide training and support to employees on data classification best practices.
Monitor and respond to data classification incidents and issues.
Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data discovery and classification.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Data Discovery & Classification Engineer or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of data discovery and classification tools and technologies (e.g., Varonis, Microsoft Information Protection, Symantec).
Familiarity with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM) are a plus.
