We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator with expertise in SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and proficiency in PowerShell scripting to join our team. As a DBA, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our SQL Server and PostgreSQL database systems, ensuring their stability, performance, and security. This role requires a strong foundation in SQL Server administration, experience with PostgreSQL, and the ability to leverage PowerShell for automation and scripting tasks. Knowledge of SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services) and DevOps practices would be a plus. You will collaborate with development teams, system administrators, and stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain our database infrastructure.
Your responsibilitiesPerform SQL Server and PostgreSQL database installations, configurations, and upgrades.
Monitor and optimize SQL Server and PostgreSQL database performance, ensuring efficient query execution, index tuning, and resource utilization.
Implement database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and auditing, to protect sensitive data in both SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments.
Troubleshoot database issues and coordinate with development teams to diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks, errors, and data inconsistencies in SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases.
Collaborate with system administrators to ensure proper hardware, storage, and network configurations for optimal SQL Server and PostgreSQL performance.
Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automating database administration tasks, monitoring, and reporting across SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases.
Stay updated with the latest database technologies and industry best practices, providing recommendations for improvements and innovation in both SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments.
Provide guidance and support to development teams regarding database design, schema changes, and query optimization in both SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases.
Document database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines for knowledge sharing and disaster recovery purposes in SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on SQL Server and some exposure to PostgreSQL.
Strong knowledge of SQL Server database administration, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and security management.
Familiarity with PostgreSQL database administration, including installation, configuration, and performance optimization.
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automating database administration tasks.
Solid understanding of database concepts, schema design, and SQL query optimization.
Familiarity with database backup and recovery strategies, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) setups.
Knowledge of database security principles and best practices.
Experience with SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services) is a plus.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools is a plus.
