Job Summary:


The Cybersecurity Engineer for Rolling Stock is responsible for ensuring the security and resilience of the onboard systems and networks within metro rail vehicles. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity measures that protect against threats, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with various teams to secure the operational technology (OT) environment of rolling stock.


Cybersecurity Design & Implementation:


  • Develop and implement cybersecurity policies, protocols, and procedures specific to rolling stock.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to integrate cybersecurity measures into rolling stock systems, including onboard control systems, communication networks, and passenger information systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analysis for onboard systems and networks.

Monitoring & Incident Response:


  • Monitor rolling stock systems for security breaches, suspicious activities, or vulnerabilities.
  • Respond to and manage cybersecurity incidents, including threat identification, mitigation, and post-incident analysis.
  • Ensure continuous monitoring and regular security assessments of rolling stock systems.

Compliance & Standards:


  • Ensure compliance with relevant cybersecurity standards, such as IEC 62443, ISO 27001, and other industry-specific regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to cybersecurity measures, policies, and procedures for rolling stock systems.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure ongoing compliance with national and international cybersecurity standards.

Collaboration & Support:


  • Work closely with IT and OT teams to ensure a cohesive cybersecurity strategy across all rolling stock operations.
  • Provide cybersecurity support during the design, testing, and deployment of new rolling stock technologies.
  • Train and support engineering and operations staff on cybersecurity best practices related to rolling stock systems.

Research & Development:


  • Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and technology trends relevant to the transportation and rolling stock industry.
  • Participate in cybersecurity research and development projects aimed at enhancing the security posture of rolling stock systems.

Desired Skills:


Education:


·Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.


Experience:


  • 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, preferably in the transportation or industrial control systems (ICS) sectors.
  • Experience with rolling stock systems or other transportation technologies is highly desirable.

Skills & Competencies:


  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and threat analysis.
  • Proficiency with cybersecurity tools and technologies used for monitoring, detection, and incident response.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and regulations such as IEC 62443, ISO 27001, NIST, etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Certifications:


·Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or GIAC are preferred.


Work Environment:


·Primarily office-based, with occasional travel to rail depots, workshops, or other operational sites as needed.


Physical Requirements:


·Ability to occasionally work in challenging environments, including onboard trains, workshops, and depots.
