Cost Accountant Lead

Overview

Supervises the accounting of costs for the V2X company. This is a key role in helping the company maintain strong cash flows. The role is for someone who has a strong understanding of GAAP and good research skills. This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the company.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the month-end journal entries and focus on all intra-company payables and receivables.
• Responsible for the completion of monthly financial closing process.
• Focus on the process improvement over advices and intra-company processes.
• Interface with V2X Headquarters for timely flow of charges through the intercompany accounts.
• Ensures compliance with Cost Accounting Standards. Ensures compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
• Responsible for cost account set-up and maintenance in cost accounting system.
• Responsible for overall contract set-up in cost accounting system.
• Focus on research and correction of varied issues in UTA and IFS. Utilize research techniques requiring knowledge of payroll processes, cost, allocations, burdens, control files, organizational setup, interfaces with Infinium HR and AP, reporting tools, account structures, job number structures, contracts, revenue calculations, billing calculations, and branch office consolidation.
• Communicate with and create report for external Auditors.
• Assist the Cost Manager in projects, as needed.

Qualifications

• Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
  • BS/BA Degree or equivalent related experience.
• Experience:
  • Three to Five years of accounting related experience. General knowledge of US GAAP. Knowledge of cost accounting principles a plus.
• Skills & Technology Used:
  • General PC skills and knowledge of Excel required.
