This individual will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for the LCCI communications team, while driving comprehensive internal and external communications plans for LCCI’s key initiatives. The individual will partner with the Executive Team, HR organization, Employee Resource groups, LCCI functions, as well as the broader India Corporate Affairs and Communications teams to establish and promote an integrated communication strategy and framework for LCCI. This entails overseeing the planning and execution of all communication initiatives, including executive communications, employee communication and engagement, employer branding, social media, brand awareness and building, and thought leadership activities in partnership with stakeholders and agency partners to ensure Lilly/LCCI’s narrative is communicated effectively and accurately.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a communications team focused on upholding the Lilly brand, keeping our employees updated and engaged, fostering a sense of belonging, and establishing LCCI/Lilly as a thought leader and an employer of choice, helping drive the culture of Lilly and meaningful connection to our purpose.
- Develop an internal communications strategy, along with communication channels and content that inspire, motivate, and engage employees by leveraging proven and innovative communications tactics with a multi-channel approach.
- Identify speaking engagements, events, and employer of choice certifications and award opportunities, while ensuring content is delivered within a cohesive “brand story” and corporate narrative.
- Act as a trusted communications advisor to senior leadership to develop communications plans with supporting storylines to support the LCCI site and broader One India strategies.
- Influence LCCI external brand thought multi-dimensional campaigns activating external social media and offline channels that successfully create a brand preference and builds and maintains positive brand sentiment to help create a draw for the best talent.
- Work in partnership with HR and functions, determine and resource our communication opportunities to grow employee advocacy, build our employer brand and equip our people with the communications resources they need to be at their best every day.
- Coach the members of the communication team through strategic communication initiatives and integrated plans for each member’s focus area.
- Swiftly and effectively manage any emerging issues that pose a risk to our reputation.
- Proactively manage and lead communications for significant incidents (pandemics/ natural disasters) to ensure timely and relevant delivery of information to all employees.
- Develop and maintain processes and governance mechanisms to ensure compliance while enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our internal and external communications efforts.
- Balance long term strategy and short-term delivery, to ensure we are investing in the most strategically relevant opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or related discipline.
- Over 10 years of professional experience in high profile corporate communications, employee communications, and public relations roles, supporting organizations with a global presence. Experience in building and implementing communication strategies from the ground up.
- Proven track record of working with senior executives and creating and implementing successful corporate communication strategies and programs.
- Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across various stakeholders. Proven management skills, including strategy planning, budgeting, and first level management experience.
- Strong writer and brand storyteller who is creative, persuasive, optimistic, and forward-looking.
- Experienced in crisis communication, with strong planning and organization skills, and the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
- Possesses an operator’s mindset, excited about the efficient execution of highly detailed workflows, capable of owning all aspects of project and people management.
- Experienced in leading within an organization where regulation and compliance are key considerations in all aspects of work.
- A leader with credibility and gravitas, who quickly builds trust with peers, team members and leadership.
