Who we are looking for


Controls Testing and Assurance performs a key role for State Street as a First line of defense function by testing Information technology controls and providing independent feedback on the adequacy of controls. As a part of the Controls assurance team, one has to contribute to driving program activities related to Control identification, controls testing and Controls and Risk Mapping. To achieve this objective, one has to communicate and collaborate with controls owners and other key stakeholders globally.


The SOC Analyst will work with the SOC Program Coordinator for CRD and liaise between the SOC reporting service auditor and the business unit control owners to assist in the performance of walkthroughs, obtaining sample populations and control evidence, as well as responding to ad hoc questions and requests. In addition, the SOC analyst will ensure control changes are appropriately discussed and agreed upon, communicated to the required parties, and updated within the system of record.

What you will be responsible for


This role will be responsible for assisting in the completion of various AUPs, SOC 1, and SOC 2 reports covering Information Technology and State Street Alpha, including the following responsibilities:


  • Liase with external audit firm(s) as well as partnering with control stakeholders to obtain and provide requested information to help achieve project milestones;
  • Work with control stakeholders to understand changes to control environment and how that may impact the scope of SOC reporting;
  • Ensure alignment of SOC control reporting to documented controls in the system of record, refreshing the data when necessary, but at least annually;
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on how to address control deviations, remediation, as necessary;

As time permits, this individual may be asked to provide assistance with testing business owned controls as well.

  • Ideal candidate has audit experience in public accounting or internal audit, including background in Information Technology;
  • Preferred industry experience includes Financial Services, Banking and/or Insurance;
  • Excellent analytical, client service, time management, and communication skills;
  • Ability to multi-task and manage projects in fast paced environment;
  • Proficiency in evaluating and testing internal controls;
  • Proficiency in Excel;
  • Deadline and detail orientated.

Education & Preferred Qualifications


  • BS or BA degree required;
