Job Description

Requires working knowledge of theories, principles and concepts and applies general knowledge of business and industry practices within a controlling function. Understands key business drivers and builds knowledge of the company, processes and customers. Under a moderate level of guidance, responsible for solving moderately complex problems following established policies and procedures. Participates in the establishment and maintenance of corporate accounting principles, practices and procedures for the maintenance of fiscal records and preparation of financial reports.  Performs work involved in the analysis and interpretation of trends and operating results in terms of costs, budgets policies and profit opportunities. Participates in the formulations of procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with government regulations and standards. Plans own work, and adjusts efforts to meet goals. Supports the achievement of goals through own personal efforts.

About the team


As headcount controller, you will be joining the global */dxg Finance team. Our goal is rather straightforward: we take care of the Planning & Controlling for the Tech division across Wolters Kluwer. The impact on the organization is tangible: we provide insights that enable our colleagues to offer the right guidance and targets for the business, and drive innovation and change in different domains of the company. All our Finance teams are filled with smart, high-performing finance professionals who enjoy pioneering and taking ownership of their work. 
 


Your Impact


You will have the opportunity to shape and enhance the efficiency of our budgeting, forecasting, and operational reporting processes, crafting a visionary 3-year strategic plan and financial modeling. Reporting to the Director, Financial Planning , dedicated to supporting Technology and Development, contributing significantly to our organization's growth and success.


In addition, your key responsibilities will include:


  • Maintain workforce metadata, aligning with the Corporate HR fact book.
  • Ensure timely and full alignment of the management information system (PBCS) with Workday.
  • Reconcile actual reporting with payroll.
  • Prepare compelling and clear data reports and presentations to share analytics results.
  • Align with the PMO team to ensure reconciliation with the time writing tool.
  • Implement a resource planning tool to provide insight into the availability and utilization of */dxg resources (employees and contractors).
  • Provide support during the onboarding of new */dxg teams and guide them in adopting */dxg (finance) processes.
  • Own financial controls for resource processes.

  • Experience with cross-functional collaboration within geographically dispersed virtual teams and effective communication at various leadership levels, including executive management.
  • Proficiency in accurately summarizing analyses for executive presentations.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics with at least 5 years of work experience in Finance.
  • Experience supporting Technology and Development organizations.
  • Experience developing IT tools supporting Finance.
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines, delivering timely and quality results with a focus on data accuracy and integrity.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize and evaluate complex data.
  • Excellent command of Excel and PowerPoint; experience with HRIS (e.g., SAP, Workday) is a plus.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Capacity to identify underlying principles and causes of data disparities and explain them effectively.
  • Ability to function as an integral part of the finance team, building positive relationships and credibility.
  • Comfortable communicating cross-functionally with geographically distributed virtual teams and various levels of leadership, including executive management.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
