The Financial Solutions Lead Analyst in Controller Transformation team is a techno functional professional who contributes to the Citi’s overall transformation strategy by leading the design & implementation of technology solutions, thus improving the current state processes & delivering technology solutions for the Controller organization. This role requires the incumbent to be a recognized technical authority for an area within the business, requiring ongoing consideration of long-term solutions that drive efficiency and reduce the organizations’ reliance on EUCs and manual touchpoints. The incumbent is expected to be tech savvy, whilst having hands on knowledge of Accounting, Ledger & Close Processes, and associated tools. Role requires advanced communication & diplomacy skills to guide, negotiate, influence others across the organization levels both internally and outside of the immediate team. The role requires high level of ownership of one’s deliverables and ensuring timely, good quality and comprehensive outcomes. The lead analyst is expected to provide advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business and guide and mentor junior team members.
The deliverables assigned to this role have a key impact on Citi’s Transformation agenda and hence provide significant exposure to various Controller processes and seniors globally.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the design, implementation, and governance of end-to-end technology requirements for close operating model.
- Leads the conversations with Technology partners to ensure requirements are clearly articulated and understood, oversees the build quality and delivery of the tech solutions.
- Sets up necessary forums to socialize tools & technologies built, gathers feedback and plans the delivery of the same
- Participates in formulating strategic direction for the process and architecture for the Controllers organization across Citi businesses, products, functions and locations.
- Participates in assessing and incorporating changing business, regulatory and market information needs into Controller processes and applications.
- Strategic professional who advises on directional strategy by analyzing subject matter and its application in their own job and the business.
- Acts as a technical expert / advisor on significant decisions with Technology solutions
- Implements policies and procedures.
- Has the ability to drive discussions and provide insights and can operate with a limited supervision and autonomy.
- Appropriately assesses risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) / master’s in business administration (MBA)/ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent combination of education
- 10 to 12+ years of relevant experience, within the financial services industry (Controller, FP&A, Treasury preferred)
- Hands on experience of leveraging BI Tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Experience and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment
- In depth knowledge of banking products / systems preferred.
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, active listening); ability to synthesize key messages and influence others

- Ability to see the "big picture" without losing attention to detail
- Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions with limited instructions.
- Bachelors degree, Masters degree preferred
