As a Associate in Controls India Team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the control environment across various programs thereby safeguarding the organization’s assets and ensuring operational integrity. The role is to join APAC Legal Entity Risk Assessment team within the APAC Regional Control Management, located in Bangalore. You will be responsible for coordinating and conducting a variety of risk assessments across all applicable APAC Legal Entities (24). Team members are responsible for performing comprehensive quality assurance testing, data analysis, and the coordination and drafting of the risk assessments
Job Responsibilities
- Partner with team members, location and business control managers, and Compliance, Conduct & Operational Risk (CCOR) to ensure timely and quality completion of applicable phases required in supporting the creation of the annual LERA.
- Collate quantitative and qualitative data sources.
- Reconcile the firm’s legal obligation repository to ensure completeness of Compliance Group representation.
- Assess compliance risk within a legal entity by using quantitative and qualitative data analysis to pinpoint the main compliance groups that contribute to both inherent and residual risk within the Legal Entity.
- Manage the Legal Entity Community of Practice by preparing meeting materials, tracking actions, and documenting feedback from key stakeholders, including Location Controls, Business Controls, Legal, and CCOR.
- Manage key program milestones, including communications, ongoing progress reporting, and managing escalations.
- Draft the Compliance Risk Assessment by compiling extracts from all necessary data sources and incorporating qualitative insights from subject matter experts within the Legal Entity.
- Coordinate and resolve CCOR challenges with relevant control managers.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of financial services experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with global teams.
- Ability to function effectively under tight deadlines and adapt to changing environments.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in process improvement and operational excellence.
- Strong understanding of controls and their application to business processes.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in Banking Risk, Control domains, compliance and reporting. Understanding of Controls organization and exposure to firmwide regulations.
- Knowledge of data analytical tools like Alteryx and Tableau is an advantage. Experience preferably in controls, risk management, or related functions.
- Proven track record in process transformation and automation.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
