In an operational environment with complex contract structures, high client expectations, and increasing regulatory constraints, DEME is seeking a Contract Manager to support its operations in India. Based in our Chennai office, you will assist in the execution of the regional projects from a contractual-technical perspective, managing contracts with clients, main contractors, and related subcontracts and supply agreements.
Participate in or support negotiations, including risk and opportunity analysis, strategy development, and drafting of (legal) documents for the various regional projects.
Review Charter Party Terms and Conditions for chartering dredgers, vessels, and equipment.
Serve as the primary contact for all contractual matters throughout the project lifecycle of the regional projects.
Proactively monitor and manage contractual rights and obligations under contracts and/or subcontracts.
Ensure timely and proper notification of any contractual entitlements as per contract / subcontract terms.
Initiate and manage project-related variations and claims.
Address and provide legal support regarding all and any contractual issues encountered during execution of the regional projects.
Maintain clear and direct communication lines with all internal and external stakeholders.
Work in close collaboration with DEME’s Legal Department located in Belgium.
Master’s degree in Law, Economics, or Engineering.
10+ years of contract management experience, ideally within DEME’s fields of expertise. Knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, BIMCO, and LOGIC contracts is essential.
Fluency in English; additional languages are an asset.
