Description


We are seeking an innovative and experienced Business Analyst to join Northern Trust’s Innovation and Change Team. The Business Analyst is responsible for creating process designs, business requirements, and acceptance criteria for our Operational Automation projects within our Derivative Practice. The successful candidate will work closely with the business stakeholders to evaluate, clean up, and improve processes to be automated, and then apply RPA and machine learning technologies to enable the automation.



The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail and have analytical and problem-solving abilities. The candidate should have a background in process design, and be able to ask key questions in order to shape the to-be process for the most effective automation approach.


Requirements:


  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills. The candidate should be able to ask the right questions to draw the information needed to develop a manual process into an effective, automated process.
  • Liaise with subject matter experts, operations and management to gather and define requirements to meet the stated business or technical outcome
  • Work with the Product Owner and scrum team on a daily basis to ensure that the business outcomes are being defined and met in a timely manner
  • Translate complex business requirements into clearly defined, actionable tasks
  • Develop test cases and test packs
  • Present the results of your work to senior management and stakeholders
  • Collaborate across the Derivatives business functions to ensure that the product being delivered meets the requirements of the stakeholders
  • Present ideas to the product team for new capabilities
  • Thrive in a highly variable, fast paced environment with changing priorities and tasks
  • Connect the dots between siloed processes and have a big picture view.
  • Understanding of data structures and data management practices. Much of our automation needs are aligned to ensuring we are able to pull timely data.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders in identifying/clarifying user story acceptance criteria, and supporting user acceptance test planning for each release.
  • Identify additional opportunities and processes automation.

Qualifications:


  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance or related field and/or equivalent work experience
  • 6-8 years of work experience in the financial sector, ideally in a data or business analyst role
  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize multiple deliverables and work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Broad knowledge of OTC, ETD & Collateral Derivative products
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience in the system development life cycle (SDLC) and working in an Agile SCRUM environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with our business stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of financial operational processes, preferable in the derivative industry
  • Added advantage on technical certifications like Blue Prism, SQL, Markit EDM, Agile SCRUM desirable
