Computational Fluid Dynamics Analyst


Mechanical Engineering leads and delivers the development of innovative and compliant mechanical design solutions, as well as cross-functional interfaces for AI, Cloud, High Performance Computing (HPC), Edge computing devices and enterprise networking, server and storage products. Our team conducts the analysis, feasibility studies and testing of mechanical products, instruments, subassemblies and packaging for new and existing products – and then oversees the introduction of design changes to the manufacturing organizations.

What you’ll achieve


As a Computational Fluid Dynamics Analyst, you will work with a cross-functional engineering team to deliver advanced liquid cooling solutions for AI, HPC, and enterprise server marketsYour simulation and analysis will enable the latest and technologies from CPU and GPU vendors, drive improved product efficiency, and uncover problem statements for innovation. Your primary responsibility will be to utilize CFD and FEA modelling tools to simulate the mechanical, thermal and flow behavior of liquid cooling components.


You will:


  • Work with key stakeholders to align on modeling requirements, performance metrics, and boundary conditions 
  • Build and pre-process models, mesh, solve, post process, and analyze results 
  • Run parametric studies to optimize the performance 
  • Present findings to thermal engineers and management to identify problem areas and opportunities to improve design for cost, power, and cooling efficiency 
  • Establish new processes, and maintain consistent modeling practices within the CFD team

Essential Requirements


  • 9+ years industry experience or equivalent skill; must include 5+ years’ experience modelling liquid cooling, thermal design or equivalent skill
  • Experience in CFD modeling liquid cooling for electronics including fluid flow and heat transfer analysis. Experience with FEA modeling, ideally in ANSYS for part deformation. 
  • Expertise in using Star CCM+ and Icepak or Flotherm 
  • Strong CAD experience with CREO 

Desirable Requirements


  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in mechanical engineering with a focus on CFD 
  • Experience with liquid cooling in servers. Knowledge of cooling requirements for GPU’s and CPU’s
