Compliance Officer – C&S Electric Limited
This
position shall be responsible to drive & implement the Compliance programme
at C&S Electric Limited (C&S), Noida, India. The individual will be
primarily responsible for adhering and measuring compliance, including the
assigned areas of Ethics, Anti-Corruption, Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Trust,
Data Privacy, Export Control and Human Rights. The responsibility includes
ensuring that the company operates within ethical and legal framework while
adhering to the company's policies and procedures.
The
role will involve a matrix reporting, functionally for compliance to the
Regional Compliance Officer (RCO) and administratively to the MD & CEO of
C&S. The individual will be responsible for working directly with C&S’s
stakeholders. This role is based in Noida, Delhi NCR. While the role is
primarily to lead the compliance activities, the management of C&S may
consider additional leadership responsibilities, including other governance roles
to be added to this role.
Responsibilities:
The
focus of this position will be to act as a business partner and business
enabler, while implementing and managing an effective compliance program
covering the defined risk areas. The broad areas of responsibility include, but
are not limited to the following:
- Business/Stakeholder
Engagement: Provide advisory and guidance to business stakeholders, employees
and other corporate teams relating to Ethics & Compliance topics and
emerging risk areas.
- Policies
and Procedures: Adapt Siemens’ Global & Local Compliance Circular,
Handbook, Policies, Guidelines & Tools, to suit C&S’s requirements.
Effectively implement local guidelines & processes under supervision &
guidance of Head of Compliance of SLI, if required.
- Compliance
Due Diligence, Know Your Counterpart (KYC) & Background checks:
Independently review & take approval decision on Compliance Due Diligence,
KYC & background checks on third parties, conducted by business as per
defined processes & suggest appropriate risk mitigation measures, if any.
- Risk
Assessments: Conduct periodic and ongoing Compliance risk assessments to
proactively identify potential areas of non-compliance and work with
stakeholders to define and implement mitigation steps.
- Investigation
support:Support the independent investigation team with plausibility
checks, assist in implementing decisions of the lead country local disciplinary
committee, monitor and track implementation of remedial actions arising out of
investigations.
- Monitoring
and reporting: Conduct periodic compliance monitoring and checks for defined
risk areas and activities, conduct site reviews, report outcomes to
local/global management, define and implement remedial actions. Also create and
manage effective action plans in response to audit observations and compliance
violations.
- Training
and awareness: Leverage global resources and develop local content to conduct
bespoke training and awareness programs to promote a culture of ethical
decision making and compliance. Independently impart training & awareness
on Ethics & Compliance to C&S’s stakeholders on a periodic basis.
- Prepare
relevant content, drive impactful reporting and leadership engagement through
period meetings of the Compliance Review Board and Board of Directors.
What you need to make a difference
- Degree
or certification in law, finance, risk management, accounting, auditing,
business management or related fields. Master’s degree is preferred.
- At least
10+ years of experience, preferably in manufacturing industry, high risk
countries or risk, compliance, governance roles (Audit, Investigations, Risk
Management, etc). Prior experience in handling Ethics & Compliance roles is
mandatory.
- Experience
in handling risk management, strategy, or other governance roles would be an
added advantage.
- Knowledge
of local and international laws relating compliance, more specifically to the
assigned risk areas.
- Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build, influence
and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Fluency in English language is mandatory.
- Ability
to assume responsibility for multiple topics and resolve them effectively.
- Highly
analytical, innovative approach using tech/data, with strong attention to
detail.
- Flexibility
to travel.
